Longtime political activist Ray Ward has filed the 18th ethics complaint against Governor Palin. Ward claims Palin has been paid for radio and television interviews dating back to just after she lost her vice-presidential bid.
Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, tells CBS 11 News the allegations are "categorically false," and says it fits a pattern of harassing and false ethics complaints.
The governor cited ethics complaints as a major reason she was resigning, saying they were distracting the state's agenda from progressing and had cost taxpayers $2-million.
The state personnel board has thus far vindicated the governor in fifteen complaints.
One complaint was founded, and the governor repaid the state for her children's travel expenses. Our partners at the Anchorage Daily News are reporting the governor's office has admitted their math was not correct in saying the ethics complaints cost the state $2-million.

Just for the record, the statement in the last paragraph that one of the ethics complaints was founded is pretty slimy. The case was dismissed.
The math error was over double-counting $26k out of over $1.9 million. One line item was counted twice.

I think its time that Sarah slapped a lawsuit on little Ray Ray’s ass. The boy seems to have too much time and money on his hands.

If nothing else, reformation of the ethics complaint process is long overdue in Alaska. In other states, this guy could be facing legitimate penalties for filing clearly frivolous legal actions, and might even be held liable for the recipient’s legal fees.

I’m not an attorney but isn’t there something called “vexatious complaints” where a person who contiunally makes suchs complaints can be prosecuted?

I think I'm going to file an ethnic complaint based on the fact Sarah Palin is resigning and no longer allowing herself to be a target for moonbat liberals
Hey, that complaint will have about as much merit as 99 % of the ones files already

Agreed, but that would never have happened with Gov. Palin still in office. The Dems and RINO Corrupt Bastards up there intended to grind the state to a halt over the next 17 months and reverse her successes.
Now maybe they can get something done about it.

The problem with these kinds of complaints is that the cost of prosecuting is absorbed by the state, not the complainant against whom there is presently no recourse. The defendant has to pay his/her own legal fees.
So, there is nothing easier or cheaper than filing an ethics complaint about someone in office in a place like AK unless and until the law is changed so that false, unfounded, frivolous suits can be charged against the complainant.

Groundless ethics complaint filings ought to be met with hefty fines and jail time for the filers.

Can these people who are bringing the charges be forced to compensate Palin for her monetary losses, or are they immune because she is a politician?

Are the moonbats going to file 20 more ethics complaints against her as a going away present? Also is Levi Johnston going file an ethics complaint for not getting alimony payments?

I believe that one of the main reasons Sarah is resigning as AK Gov is so she can counter sue these maggots. Expect her to come out swinging as soon as she leaves office.

Democrats should be getting embarrassed by this stuff. It will eventually reveal who they really are—vengeful, angry, and evil people hell-bent on destroying an innocent person for purely political reasons.
