Brown Manure, Not Green Shoots. The jobs situation is even worse than the headlines.
Forbes ^ | 07.09.09 | Nouriel Roubini,

The June employment report suggests that the alleged green shoots are mostly yellow weeds that may eventually turn into brown manure. The employment report shows that conditions in the labor market continue to be extremely weak, with job losses in June of over 460,000. With the current rate of job losses, it is very clear that the unemployment rate could reach 10% by later this summer--around August or September--and will be closer to 10.5%, if not 11%, by year-end. I expect the unemployment rate is going to peak at around 11% at some point in 2010, well above historical standards for even severe recessions.

It's clear that even if the recession were to be over anytime soon--and it's not going to be over before the end of the year--job losses are going to continue for at least another year and a half. Historically, during the last two recessions, job losses continued for at least a year and a half after the recession was over. During the 2001 recession, the recession was over in November 2001, and job losses continued through August 2003 for a cumulative loss of jobs of over 5 million; this time we are already seeing more than 6 million job losses and the recession is not over.

hope and change

the only people that have hope are BOs cronies and they got lots of change in their pockets.

$18 million for a website as one example.

The Republicans are doing nothing but waiting around for the 10 of voters in the middle to drift/wander/stray back and then they’ll call it a victory for ....whatever it is the Republicans at any moment in time stand for.

“The Republicans are doing nothing but waiting around for the 10 of voters in the middle to drift/wander/stray back and then they’ll call it a victory for”

That would imply they have a plan.

The MSM yesterday touted the fall in number of first time jobless claims, but avoided mentioning the fact continuing benefit claims were at an all time high.

The MSM. They don’t even have to be told to lie.

So far, Dr. Gloom has called it right.

Obama, never really had a job, never an executive position. Really is a sign of the poor mental health, and desperation....the willingness) of the population to be and to want to be deceived.

And, they wonder why anybody that knows what they are doing is investment wise running for the hills.

Worse than that, look who his appointments are. I heard on Fox & Friends this morning that his “Green Jobs Czar” is a San Francisco communist who was radicalized in prison (sound familiar)? You can’t make this stuff up. Can you imagine the MSM uproar if Bush had appointed someone with a similar background?

Methinks the “Green Jobs” created will be the modern equivalent of Serfs on the agricultural Manor.

......waiting around for the 10 of voters......

That is the Republican of Hope.

They hope while the incoming tide destroys the country beyond fixing. Even if reelected, they can’t reverse the damage.

America is post Katrina New Orleans.

hard to create jobs in a country that let international trade gut its manufacturing industry and is trying to outlaw affordable energy.

Our economy has a giant lid placed on it called over-regulation. Take that lid off, let us make things, put people to work, and pay off debts.

I am tired of hearing us collectively referred to as consumers. We need to become a nation of producers, not lotus-eaters (see Tennyson).

Well, at least Harvard and Yale law school graduates are doing fine. As always.

The brown clown sold us a bag of brown manure. Seem to remember during the eight years of W. that the media incessantly talked about the reason the unemployment numbers were so low was that they didn't take into account all of the discouraged workers who gave up on finding a job yet we have this same scenario at work X10 at the present and they continue to shill for their savior. Agree completely with the assessment that hourly wages and hours worked are also at play here. A lot of people, myself included, have seen reduced hours through mandatory furloughs. This does not appear in the unemployment numbers either yet I still have less money to make ends meet. I do not buy the notion that people are saving more money now. If any thing they're trying to pay off prior debt unlike our government which continues to pile on ever more on a daily basis. What I view with exceptionally grave concern is if housing prices bottom out at a 40-45% decline you will see an ever increasing number of people just walking away from their mortgages because they will not be able to sell their homes at a price to satisfy what's owed the bank.

How's all that hope and change workin’ out for ya?

What's more is that as Zero and his minions pull more and more of the economy into the gummint the jobs lost won't be coming back. "Later in 2010 the unemployment rate will hit 11%" and those folks will be permanently unemployed. Imagine for yourself the consequences of that situation.

The only things that will improve our economy are things that aren't even in Zero's vocabulary. Stay buckled in cause the ride ain't over yet.

It is very simple. There can be no recovery until Obozo is out of office.

The day will come when he is exposed for what he is.

The question is what will be the condition of the U.S. when that day comes.

My gut tells me that his scam is about to run to the end.

We shall soon see.
