Leaders of the government that ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya in a coup arrived in Costa Rica Thursday for talks aimed at resolving the crisis, but with both sides questioning the other's claim to the presidency, there seemed to be very little common ground.
Costa Rican President Oscar Arias, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, is mediating negotiations between Zelaya and interim leader Roberto Micheletti at the request of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton a move some consider to be the Obama administration's first big test in Latin America....

Ooooh a Nobel Peace Prize weaner!!! Wow, I’m impressed!
The new leader is of the same party that Zelaya ia
Yep, his own party gave him the boot and he still can’t catch on!
Then it's a test he's going to fail because I don't see the Honduras government rolling over and letting that bozo Zelaya back in office.
There was no coup. The ex-president was removed legally by constitutional processes.
Honduras wants to help the DC police overthrow the US government? who would notice?
Oh, that’s not the topic?
Well since there hasn’t been a coup in Honduras, i thought they meant start one one here.
He has already failed the test.
That was my thought also.
The new President is President. He is not an “interim president”, he was constitutionally placed into the office.
The term “interim president” is used precisely to bias the news story to Obama’s position, that somehow there is this temporary situation that needs to be resolved.
In fact, the only thing that needs to be resolved is getting the ousted criminal former president to stop his treasonous attacks on his own country.

“Zelaya, a wealthy rancher who moved to the left after his election and allied himself with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, “
A Marxist thug, Obama’s favorite kinda guy.
Why don’t you take a minute to research Reas before going off on him? Too much work?
Technically he was appointed as President until the November elections when a new President will be chosen = interim
Was Johnson an “interim president”? Are Bennet and Burris “interim Senators”?
I see your point, but “interim president” suggests a temporary situation, like when a cabinet chief resigns the 2nd-in-command becomes the “interim” until the Senate can confirm a replacement.
I presume that as soon as the President was removed, someone became “interim” President until they were able to vote to make this guy President — that’s what i think of as the difference.
Maybe I’m being too technical.
Pardon if I gave you the impression that I was going off of Reas. He is probably the most stable leader in Central America, I should know I’m from Nicaragua originally.
I was pointing out the Nobel Peace Price notation. It’s something liberals use to prop up their own people. I would not be surprised if Obama wins next year.
You do mean Arias right? Just wanted to double check
