The director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Leon E. Panetta, has told the House Intelligence Committee in closed-door testimony that the C.I.A. concealed “significant actions” from Congress from 2001 until late last month, seven Democratic committee members said.

She had a press conference today after this CIA news came out. How convenient! Where has she been the last few weeks? This is pure CYA.

Of course it’s CYA. The Congressional Rats asked Panetta for a letter saying just this, presumably to provide cover for the Pineapple Princess.

The CIA has always had the problem that it is supposed to report to Congress, but members of Congress are notoriously poor security risks. In other words, they can’t kkep their mouths shut even when national security is at stake. IMHO, Congress has to be lied to until it can act more responsibly with sensitive information.
And when the Republicans (or whatever non-Democrat entity) takes back the Congress, they’ll have an easy task - fire the entire liberal infested State Department in one fell swoop!
