Is First Lady Michelle Obama sporting a taste for ultra-expensive fashion pieces, or is she cementing her status as a savvy shopper?
Back in April she wore a pair of $540 Lanvin sneakers at a Washington food bank. Earlier this week (while strolling the wooded landscape outside of Moscow), she carried a sexy black clutch, which Italian luxury house VBH boasts is their shiny black alligator manila bag – with a retail sticker price of $5,950.
The White House flatly denies that Obama bought such a high-priced accessory, and says that she was carrying a patent clutch that retails for $875.

Bet she goes shopping in Chinatown in Chicago if she bought it retail. They have all the brand names with the boxes they come in for a lot cheaper then going downtown to Michigan Avenue.
How do I know? My daughter-in-law is a savvy shopper and went there to buy Coach purses at very much of a discount.

(June 2, 2009) Michelle Obama earned some major fashion cred with bag lovers when she wore the cobalt blue version of this Ballerina Bag by cult-favorite VBH with what is rumored to be an Alaia dress.
If you'd like to take a cue from Mrs. Obama and wear this clutch out on a date with your sweetie, you could opt for this version in black python. It would go best to a formal destination like the Obamas' - the ballet.
But unfortunately, a formal price tag goes with it. While Michelle's version is said to be $1,500 this python bag is $1,900. It's a lot to pay for something you'll only bring out on special occasions, but it will certainly make those occasions that much more stylish and memorable.
The bag has a very graceful shape that is echoed in the curve of the flap closure. The python shines and is sure to be seen (and envied) from across the room.
This is purely a lipstick and cash bag, though, don't go cramming a PDA in this baby.
P.S. What the hell is she carrying anyways??? Her ID...in case someone doesn't recognize her. Bet is that she's dutifully carrying his blackberry and kleenex to wipe off his sweat...in case he sweats....Because, he's sooooo tired!!

Now how can the White House deny that , in such a short time, While Michelle is still overseas wearing bad expensive fashion ? Something is not Kosher here.
