Since 1948 the highest unemployment rate in the US has been 10.8% in 1982. 9.5% is the rate now. Run the chart at the attached link.

Can we beat it?

Yes we can!

Cap and Trade, a mispent boondoggle of a "stimulus," an unaudited Fed handing out (trillions?) much of it overseas, a Nazi collaborator as the most powerful private citizen in the political world, http://conservativeculture.com/2006/10/1131/,General Motors run by government, government health care in the works, and a population afraid to speak out in the workplace/club/church because of race and retaliation, etc., etc..

Obama is a disaster.

“CHANGE” you “can believe in”.

It’s just not the “change” you were lead to believe.

O’Bummer owns it, and the numbers **will** be fudged to prevent that exact revelation...

All one has to do is look at the actual Cap-n-Trade bill to see that Democrats KNOW that it’s a job killer. The Democrats are planning to put people on welfare for up to 3 years at 70% of their current pay before they got laid off in the energy sector. Hopefully the Senate kills it!

Don’t believe me?

Read the bill:

Text of H.R. 2454: American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-2454

(5) WEEKLY AMOUNTS- The climate change adjustment
allowance payable to an adversely affected worker for a
week of unemployment shall be an amount equal to 70
percent of the average weekly wage of such worker, but in
no case shall such amount exceed the average weekly wage
for all workers in the State where the adversely affected
worker resides.

(6) MAXIMUM DURATION OF BENEFITS- An eligible worker may
receive a climate change adjustment allowance under this
subsection for a period of not longer than 156 weeks.

According to John Williams at www.shadowstats.com, we have already beat it. By removing the government assumptions lies from the stats, he believes we are already at 20%.

This means that liberals are accomplishing exactly what they want to accomplish.

Cap and Trade, a mispent boondoggle of a “stimulus,”

You mean the Electricity, Gas, Coal and Total Energy Tax Program that will bankrupt us all? I have no idea how we these bastards get us to call it Cap and Trade. Sounds like a harmless kid’s game...

Scary as heck. I’m working a contract job now, hoping to get hired on permanently, but no guarantees. Hope I can hang on. The job market is pathetic.

I own a construction company near Buffalo. Business is deader than a doornail. Not just for my company, but for other companies I deal with. July in Buffalo is prime construction season. The stimulus was aimed directly at my sector of the economy. To say it is a failure is a massive understatement.

Compare the headline unemployment number to...

—the underemployment rate—is almost double the PC number.

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t12.htm

the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports in Table A-12: Alternative measures of labor underutilization that “total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all marginally attached workers”

While in Russia Pres__ent Obummer had to cover for another of Joe’s gaffes. He said he had “incomplete data”. Totus needs a bailout for an upgrade.

Good catch. Shadowstats is a proprietary site. This means we’re at 1940 levels, just before the Lend-Lease Act passed and companies started hiring again.

From shadowstats:

June Jobs Loss Was 513,000 Net of Concurrent Seasonal Factor Bias, Likely Topped 700,000 with Birth-Death Machinations

Payroll Employment Growth Overstatement Could Top 2.5 Million per Year with Birth-Death Modeling

Annual Payroll Decline Deepened to 4.2%, Equal to 1958 Trough and Near 1949 Trough

SGS-Alternate Unemployment at 20.6% (Does he mean U6?)

http://www.shadowstats.com/

If true, 1 out of every 5 people you see (depending on where you live) is not working.

Question: Who has seen new cars being driven around? Homes sold, not taken off market? Big ticket goods coming out of stores in the last 3 months?

Close to 12% by the end of the year. If cap and trade passes I’d bet on 15% unemployment by the end of 2011.
