The Far Left On the Cusp of Total Success
Pajamas Media ^ | July 8 | AWR Hawkins

Academia in the United States has long been dominated by the left, creating “free speech codes” on campuses that only protect the kind of speech with which they agree.

They control the clear majority of news outlets in this country — a situation that began during the Vietnam War. They own the environmental movement, set the curriculum in public education, and have successfully fought to alienate “certain inalienable rights” enumerated by our Founding Fathers.

And if all this isn’t enough, they currently control the House, the Senate, and the White House, which means they’re positioned to use the government’s leverage to raise new taxes, nationalize our health care system, and dismantle our military. Yes, much to the chagrin of conservatives, President Obama is leading a Democrat Party that is reaping the benefits from a series of successful, measured assaults against this country and the rights of its citizens.

While much of what passes as “hope” or “change” today is rooted in the nearly half-century old counterculture movement of the 1960s, some of it actually goes back as far as the Progressive Era of 1900 to 1920 — the era that intimated that man was intrinsically good and would, if properly educated (and subsidized), find practices like war and crime abominable. ...

Its possible they have been OVERSUCCESSFUL and that the present Pretender to the White House will make the nation wake up and realize how dangerous these loons really are.

Losing the schools and pop-culture hurt the most. I have a 16 yr old cousin who loves Obama, has Obama’s face as his desktop image, and wears a t-shirt with some retarded global warming message Al Gore would love. Anyway I quizzed him on issue by issue and he’s a libertarian except he doesn’t know it.

The left’s single achievement is convincing opponents that opposition is futile, which it is not.

I agree. I think they’re overstepping and people are waking up to that fact.

Thank you for this link.

The author could have also referred to the fact that with one more nomination after Sotomayor, or her stand-in, and such a nomination is a very big likelihood, they will own all three branches of the government.

I used to be concerned about this, but now that I see a backlash of biblical proportions building on the horizon I just sit here and smile. :)

The moment that higher utility bills start hitting the mailboxes is the day that Marxism gets flushed down America's toilet - if not much sooner.

I’m with you.

Every totalitarian act they pass is just another stepping stone to the reset that this country desperately needs.

From the Declaration:
Men tolerate injustice while it is tolerable, but when every act of the government has the same goal of reducing us to absolute despotism, it is our right and duty to alter or abolish that government.

Were we a center right nation back in the 1930s when FDR was president and the Democrats held overwhelming majorities in the Congress and were passing huge spending bills?

Do you still think California is Reagan Country?

We are in the deepest darkest period of history right now. I only hope it is short lived and we’ll see a turnaround by November 2010.

The author neglects to round out the picture with an account of the influence of The Frankfurt School, Saul Alinsky, and George Soros.

People here keep forgetting something.

A LOT of conservatives detested McCain and swore to stay away form the polls and not vote at all. I think THAT contributed to Obama’s victory.

A LOT of conservatives were ticked off at the GOP due to Bush's bungling mismanagement of the economy and the illegal Mexican invasion. I'm sure that made a lot of them stay away.

And I'm sure there were a lot of unsophisticated independents who did the same thing, or even voted for Obama because they had had it with Dubya and his antics.

ALL of this played into the Obama - democratic victory in 2008. But it was HARDLY a landslide. They won in 2006 but the GOP ignored the signs. They won AGAIN and the GOP leadership is STILL ignoring the signs.

BOTH McConnell and Boehmer should be OUT of their respective leadership roles. The GOP needs leaders of conservative conviction, not ambivalent panderers and incompetents.

The time will come soon to take political advantage of the leftist traitors’ mistakes in Washington, but unless the GOP does SOMETHING to position themselves as in the leadership of that opposition, they will be replaced.

If there isn’t a successful conservative backlash in this country, we’re doomed, and so is America.

The same people who still think we’re a center right nation think BHO is a naive bambi-like liberal who doesn’t know what he is doing ignoring the fact that he is a life long hardcore Marxist who knows exactly what he’s doing and where he wants to take the country.

“Were we a center right nation back in the 1930s when FDR was president and the Democrats held overwhelming majorities in the Congress and were passing huge spending bills?”

The nation back then was in an economic mess, just as it is now and back then, just as it is now, it happened when an incompetent Republican was at the helm. The voters turned on the party they held responsible and put FDR and the socialists in power. But basically, Americans back then were not socialists. They were conservatives of moral integrity and patriots trying to survive and the party which SHOULD have protected them did not.

“Do you still think California is Reagan Country?”

No. Thanks to Bush I and II and Clinton and their Hispaniophilic illegal alien pandering, California has become a colony of Mexico.

“We are in the deepest darkest period of history right now.”

Totally agree. But the people to blame are Bush I and Bush II who betrayed the Reagan Revolution, and those Republicans who ignored the Contract with America once they got in power.

“I only hope it is short lived and we’ll see a turnaround by November 2010.”

Obama is a very shrewd operator and he has the traitors in the press supporting him. His policies are starting to lose support among independents and those foolish Republicans who thought a RINO was worse than a racist pro-Islamic Socialist. We have to plan to take advantage of the errors he creating. He can make all the mistakes in the world, but as long as we have gutless wonders like John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Michael Steel, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and Lindsey Graham as well as overt traitors like Snowe and Collins in our midst, we can't possibly take advantage of them.

How many times have YOU voted in a primary? Have you supported conservatives in Republican primaries with dollars and time? Maybe YOU personally have. But too many conservatives have not. Maybe we need to give them MORE money and MORE time and spend more of our hours plotting and planning what we can do to take our party, our government and our nation back from the Luddites, Bolsheviks, Communists and Nihilists who have stolen it away.

As it is currently geographically configured.
However, the concept of America - self rule, reaping what you sow, etc,

will continue on, because that is the natural inclination of man.

Total success? Not quite yet. That won’t come until the left has overturned the 2nd amendment. Should the left succeed in confiscating the American citizens firearms, total enslavement would follow very quickly. On the day the left try it, and it will, we will find out whether the nation will survive by the reaction of actual Americans throughout the country.
