Shouldn't the news media which is going ga-ga over Sarah Palin pay some attention to this?

Wattsburg, Pa. — Vice President Joe Biden visited a small town on the outskirts of Erie today to talk to rural folks about federal stimulus money that can be used to expand broadband access to the Internet for rural areas that typically have poor connections.

Apparently stimulus money and broadband are not all that interesting to the local folk here: Only around 100 or so people have showed up so far to hear Biden talk at noon at Seneca High School off Route 8 in Wattsburg.

The room looked so sparse that about 30 or so chairs were removed by volunteers to give the illusion of a full house.

The effect didn't exactly work. Pittsburgh native and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper are also on hand to talk about access to high speed internet as an essential tool for success in business and in school in our struggling economy.

The Vice President, the Secretary of Agriculture, a PA native, and the local Congresscritter and they couldn't scare up more than 100 people? How many of those were from the news media?

I got news for you... I worked part-time at a survey research center during the last national election.... MOST of the people who were self-identified Democrats and planned to vote for Obama DID NOT KNOW WHO BIDEN WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Town Hall Meeting in PA. Only 100 show up...

What's the problem with 100 showing up at town hall? Seems to me that folks some time or other have to go there to get dog licenses, pay taxes, get building permits. At any one time there should be at least 100 folks there, so I see no problem with this "town hall meeting".

With 100 people in attendance and 5 speakers at the event they could have broken out into study groups with the attendees.

Also, the Secret Service opened up the event to all.....so much for security - lol
