...debate over Sarah Palin is "the elites vs. the rest of us". Like Ronald Reagan, Sarah can go straight to the people without checking with the media or the GOP Beltway Boys.

She's a winner.

"Now if she would just dump the Republican party and join the Conservative Party."

Yep, that'll get Obama re-elected by a wide margin, and make Ross Perot grin from ear to ear.

Sarah is the ONLY person with an “R” after their name I am more than mildly interested in at this point.

Because she is just plain likeable. You have to be likeable to be president. Obama was a very good actor and those pulling his puppet strings were very clever. No one pulls Palin’s strings — she is a natural.

Charles K has trashed Sarah since McCain picked her! That is not even debatable.

Sarah can go straight to the people without checking with the media or the GOP Beltway Boys

A trait that will be even more important to her when she wins.

And that is a change, how. Sort of the same numbers McCain got in the last election.

Now be honest--who do you think would be a more effective money-raiser for the GOP? McCain or Palin?

That is what it's all about. And if Palin is totally sick of the GOP and decides to go 3rd party and takes a few big name conservatives (Rush?) with her--hang on to your hat!

"I Hate When TC put my lonely picture up with that stupid smiling Palin family photo!"

So... 29% of Republicans prefer Obama to Palin?

There is more to numbers than your interpretation. Put me in the camp that believes quitting anything is wrong. (call it "resigning" if you prefer -- that's a semantic argument and a distinction without a difference.) I also don't like Obama.

To be honest, until the Congress and the Senate grow a backbone, it really won't matter who the President is. A Republican majority with no spine will play nicey-nicey to the Democrats, a Republican minority will be trampled on. Either way its another economic disaster looming.

While Sarah is of good thought has ideas worth hanging onto, unfortunately, she just does not have the political savvy or a wit that is quick enough to sustain her on the national or global stage.

I wanted her to succeed, but her background just cannot support her in the swing vote categories.

Every time I see an interview with her I find myself cringing in the corner, fearful of what mis-word or phrase she will trip over next. It really is quite embarrassing. Not sure I can ever hang my hat or her ability to argue the GOP positions.

One needs to stand up for the planks that count, but be smart enough to express that stance in a way that convinces those “others” of its validity.

I don't know if she needs the GOP as it is constituted now. The GOP has failed is supporters abysmally and maybe Palin feels they will not get their act together in time to do her any good. It's all sort of confused and unsettled. She can stand alone and rally the TRUE Conservatives around her without the GOP baggage. IF she talks straight and conventional GOP BS. We'll see.

Quit. Resigned. Same thing. We made fun of Clinton for parsing words like this. Palin couldn’t even finish one term as Governor of Alaska. The libs will hammer her on that if she runs for President. She couldn’t handle 4 years in Alaska; how will she handle for years in the White House?

"You know what... I saw how the liberals Alinsky style attacks on her with ethics charges costing her money in defense and boggling up her time were transpiring with no one having a real clue. This stops the enemy in their tracks. Her being out there and fighting scares the crap out of them. SO I LIKE IT!"

Sarah trumped their Alinsky move with the tried and true: "The hunted becomes the hunter."

At the very least atleast someone will be speaking out bluntly about Obama’s daily ruining of our country. The rest of them are busy with mistresses and corruption or Romney-peeps secretly trashing Palin.

Maybe Palin will emerge a GOOD STRONG THIRD PARTY that TRULY wants gov reform.
