Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his top deputies have not formally asked for U.S. aid or permission for possible military strikes on Iran's nuclear program, fearing the White House would not approve, two Israeli officials said.
One senior Israeli official, who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, told The Washington Times that Mr. Netanyahu determined that "it made no sense" to press the matter after the negative response President Bush gave Mr. Netanyahu's predecessor, Ehud Olmert, when he asked early last year for U.S. aid for possible military strikes on Iran.

I cannot blame Netanyahu. He has to do what’s best for Israel. I just hope he knows that there’s a huge population of Americans who support Israel.
I wouldn’t say a thing to us right now either...it’d be leaked right to the Iranians!!!!!!
I have a feeling that Israel knows that the minute they alert Obama about any plans they have, the information will be instantly forwarded to every Muslim country around the world.
Are they little kids needing papa's permission?
Me, either. Don't ask a question if you don't know the answer, or if you do know the answer but don't like it.
Netanyahu’s thoughts in this picture: “ How could the USA have voted for this Marxist, terrorist-loving village idiot??”
“I have a feeling that Israel knows that the minute they alert Obama about any plans they have, the information will be instantly forwarded to every Muslim country around the world.”
BINGO!
One thing is pretty certain: If Israel strikes Iran, the Iranian counterstrike is going to land on US forces in the region, and in all probability the oil facilities & tankers in the Gulf.
Barak had better be ready to support the Israeli strikes when & if they happen if only to provide force protection.
Just do it already. Today. Now.
I do; and I wouldn’t ask that upsurper, Obama either.
I think that if such a strike happens, Obama will do, out of necessity, what GWB would do— support Israel. I have no faith in Obama, though.
if they bomb iran in a meaningful way, i will buy an israeli flag t-shirt and wear it every day around my upper west side neighborhood here in manhattan.
0bozo thinks he can control his opponents by an implied threat (you had better ask ME first - or else).
It works so well for him in the US.
Only thing is, Israel doesn’t play by a Chicago thug’s rules.
Zero is about to get a life lesson IMO and one he’s had coming to for a long time.
Someone’s about to step up and tell him he doesn’t or can’t control them.
What 0bozo does after he gets this message will be of great interest and importance IMO and that may have long standing repercussions for America. For example - what if Israel choses not to “ask” and begins their attack - will Zero take some passive action to “allow” a notification to get to Iran? This is a Narcissist of the HIGHEST order, there’s no ends to what HIS ego is capable of doing.
Careful - the upper west side might be high on the hit list if they want to make sure they wipe out all pockets of enemies.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

I think you’re right. Israel has to work under the assumption that during the flight-time before the attack, Iran will be tipped off that Israel’s birds are in the air, and that tip will come from the White House.
Lord Obama cannot allow insubordination, after all.
The Israelis will notify the local US commanders directly, but it will be a very short notice. They’ll do it this way so that US forces can protect themselves, and Obama won’t have time to warn Iran (if he is of a mind to do such a thing. I wouldn’t put it past him). It will also offer some protection for the Israeli Air Force to prevent them ‘bumping’ into US Jets and Patriot Batteries. Damaged Israeli jets may need to land in Iraq, too.

More American than the president?
