Rarely does the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights vote unanimously on anything.
A partisan divide has made the commission contentious in recent years. Yet the Department of Justice's decision to forfeit its voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party and three individual defendants drew a 6-0 vote with one abstention by the commission. What unified the commission was outrage at the Justice Department for letting the Black Panthers off the hook.
The Civil Rights Commission has sent two letters -- on June 16 and June 22 -- to Loretta King, acting assistant attorney general for the civil rights division, asking for an explanation, but it has not received a response. Rep. Frank R. Wolf, Virginia Republican, sent a June 8 letter demanding an explanation, but the congressman told us he has yet to receive an answer from the department one month later.
The Civil Rights Commission's first letter expressed its "great confusion" over the department's decision. . . . .

Dictator Obama strikes again.
This play will be run in the 2010 and 2012 elections. (If there’s a 2012 election at all.)
I say let’s deploy a member of Rolling Thunder (hard core Vietnam Vet bikers) wherever there’s a member of the Black Panthers.
When the Civil Rights Commission gives you an emphatic thumbs down on your supposedly politically correct action, you know you’re in trouble. I hope Barack is shamed into voting more than “present.”
I’m really looking forward to the next election and plan on buying a new cane just for the occasion. I hear hickory is right tuff.
This is the way of Obama. This will be his legacy.
Whack ‘em, gramps.
If we let them get away with this, they WILL do it again. Fraudulent recounts were allowed to stand in the Washington State governor’s race a few years ago and now it is standard operating procedure for Dems, as evidenced in Minnesota. In both cases, Republicans rolled over. America, don’t you value your republic? Totalitarianism comes incrementally.
This is a little off-topic (well, more than a little), but does anybody remember that dyke, Mary Frances Berry, who squatted on the Civil Rights Commission and had to be carried out when Bush appointed someone to her chair (which he is entitled to do under the rules when a term expires, which hers had)?
Pubs are cowards. They just don’t have the killer instinct. Rats do.
The rats will continue to win unless and until pubs grow a pair.
Kinda like Mc Lame!
In Minnesota, what could Pawlenty do? Quit? He pretty well signaled the obvious — any furtherance of the battle has to take place upstairs, in the Federal arena, and he wasn’t going to complain at all if that happened.
But if somebody runs a critical campaign ad of Obama in Missouri, he will try to bring the full force of the state down on that person.
Ever wonder why more white people died by the hand of the Klan than black people?
“This play will be run in the 2010 and 2012 elections. (If theres a 2012 election at all.)”
It’s almost as if you want to take a few people, go to these places and just beat the snot out of these fascists.
Well, yeah. That's close.
If I were to say what I'd really like for the response to be I don't think JimRob would like it. I will say that this is part of the reason a certain amendment was added to the Bill of Rights.
But your answer covers the gist of it.
A hoe handle is the best cane. Made of Hickory, strong enough to hold a lot of weight should you have to use it to prevent a fall. They can be made to look good with Brass tacks as adornment.Just the right length.
Many motorcyclists use them. You can too.
With, or without the cage?
