;-)
What I saw Sarah Palin do was to state that she was not going to run for re-election as Govenor of Alaska. That statement made her a Lame Duck govenor. She then went on to say that she did not want to be a Lame Duck govenor and did not want Alaska to have a lame duck govenor, so she stepped down and turned the Govenorship over to the Lieutenant Govenor who IS running for Election as Govenor of Alaska, therefore he is NOT a lame duck govenor and now Alaska has a non lame duck govenor. It possibly helps the Lt.Govenor (now govenor) get a head start on the next election cycle because he will be facing the election as the incumbent, and may help keep Alaska in republican hands.
What is there beyond that? Am I missing something? Maybe. Maybe she will form some kind of Team Palin and go “all in”, moving to the lower 48 with her kids and husband in tow and fight the good fight against the Commies and other dark creeping corruption that is trying to take our country away from us.
But I think it was for Alaska first.
It's a two-edged sword. If the point is to make it possible for concerned citizenry to make legitimate ethics complaints, they may be scared off of doing so by the prospect of paying costs if the quarry simply out-lawyers them.
So on that front, "loser pays" is a dangerous proposition to endorse. On the other hand, there ought to be something to punish patently frivolous claims.
Right now, winning back the House and the Senate would be FAR more important than having Sarah as Veep, OR as Governor of Alaska.
When Sarah dared to wear new and upgraded clothing for the campaign, the Elists went BONKERS. “How DARE she” wear “OUR” clothing (AND LOOK BETTER DOING IT!)
That’s an example of my “feudalism” argument regarding the elitists.
You can just imagine some “noble” being outraged if some peasant was wearing clothing “above her station”.
In one sentence this is why Sarah Palin announced her resignation:
Reflecting on the ongoing imposing costly crossfire and predicament besetting her and her family, being cognizant of her ambition to become more involved in national politics, and finally recognizing the law of physics regarding time and space, Governor Sarah Palin decided to extricate herself and the state of Alaska from being under siege, allowing her more flexibility to reposition herself for a new battle ahead, as she travels in the lower 48 to fulfill her new mission.
“Winners never quit and quitters never win!Vince Lombardi
Viuce Lombardi quit the Packers, took a year off and returned with the Redskins. Try again.
And the play is being reviewed on instant replay. We dont know what this means yet.

To carry this further “You cannot win if you do not play” ... the famous carnival barker slogan ... she was out of the public view and taking sniper fire that would have kept her broke and boxed in up in AK. I think the interception analogy is a good one ,, she certainly left behind a game where the rules were rigged against her and she will be a player going forward.
I just don’t buy the Palin bru-haha. I was a big fan during the campaign until McCain put the muzzle on. Got pretty fed up with the media trying to crucify her.
But in this case, if she has ambitions for 2012, then why would she not at least finish out her term as Governor?
I tend to lose respect for people who take on a job and then quit before completing it.
I personally look at it kind of like a job resume - didn’t even keep her last job through its term.
Interesting. So now it’s “elitist” to keep working.
Even at the risk of being called A Palin Cultist I’ll go down with this ship.

Count me in too.
This is big league blood.
I was going to use that very term earlier on a Michelle thread with regards to her "First Lady" attire "don'ts," except in kind of reverse.
A few others have NEW Titles this year, because they “quit” their old job.
If Sarah had been elected VP, she would have resigned, as Governor of Alaska, back in January.
Those folks “quit” because they got new jobs. Palin just “quit.”
She would have QUIT as Gov, if she had been elected as VP, so what is the difference?
Taking back Congress is far more important than anything else we can do right now, and Sarah will be a huge help, in that regard!
This is the time to fight, and Sarah is ready for the fight.
Sarah's enemies know that, so they will keep trashing her, they simply will not have the venue of the Alaska ethics laws to use as a weapon.
And, she is about to do a “job” on Obamanation!
Great sentence, techno. I especially like the time/space component. Hawking would be proud. ;-)
