Why Catholics Should Oppose Sotomayor

The confirmation of nominee Sonia Sotomayor as a Supreme Court justice is almost a certainty. She's a woman, a Hispanic, and the pick of a popular president who leads the party that controls the Senate. Democratic leadership in the Senate is determined to complete hearings before the Judiciary Committee and get a confirmation vote before Congress adjourns in August.

Thus far, Republicans have not voiced much opposition to the nomination, perhaps thinking it better to save their ammunition for an easier battle. It's a mistake, however, to allow such a nominee to take a seat on the Supreme Court without a serious debate. Catholics in particular should object to more than simply her position on abortion. There is a more basic, epistemological issue at stake: She denies we can have the kind of knowledge necessary to affirm that abortion is morally reprehensible.

If confirmed, Sotomayor would be the first postmodern justice on the Supreme Court. Sotomayor believes knowledge and value claims are evaluated relative to the culture, ethnicity, and gender they represent. "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion," she was famously quoted as saying in 1994. This line takes on a deeper meaning when understood as a direct response to Sandra Day O'Connor's use of the maxim, "A wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases."

Unlike any previous justice, Sotomayor represents the "radical campus Left," says Manny Miranda, president of the Third Branch Conference. Miranda is a seasoned veteran of Supreme Court nomination fights, having been the primary mover behind derailing President Bush's nomination of Harriet Miers.

For the same reason non-Catholics should oppose her - because she’s not competent.

If Sotomayor were opposed to abortion on demand, the feminazis would have trashed and defeated her long ago. Since feminazis have said nothing about her, we have to conclude that she is in line with the democrats fascination with the destruction of babies-in-development.

OPPOSE RACIALISM Call Congress switchboard: 202-225-3121

MESSAGE TO SENATORS: "Sotomayor's rulings shows she would make policy through the court. The US Constitution precludes judges from making laws. It is understandable that Americans are apprehensive: Sotomayor and her crowd are colluding to exert raw power over the majority---to turn the US into a failed Third World satrap. These racialists do not understand a sophisticated superpower----a democracy governed by the rule of law, based on three co-equal branches of government."

ACTION Every senator should get 10-15,000 calls from Americans. Even with Dems in control, 10-15,000 calls could make a difference.....this is an issue that cuts across party lines. Ask Hillary who lost a primary b/c she endorsed licenses for illegals.

==============================================

FOR FUTURE REFERENCE Sotomayor and her crowd are clearly unprepared and ill-equipped to exist under US democracy----within a world-class superpower that operates under the rule of law.

Case after case clearly shows illiterate invaders, MS-13 gangs, and their savage cadres, are America-haters, invading the US to kill Americans (the brutal machete slaughter of three Black Newark teens comes to mind). The FBI reports El Salvador's brutal MS-13 gangs saturating the US, have killed more US citizens than Al Quada killings all over the world.

It appears that illiterate natives from poverty-stricken hovels are being coached by corrupt Third World governments----gov't juntas that rule by military force. Even more disturbing, Third World military juntas are attempting to undermine US justice. Third World juntas demanded last year, that the US Attorney suspend deportations of marauding latino criminals on US soil who are killing and maiming Americans. This presages the Third World they intend to build on US soil.

We're looking at primitive, illiterate Third Worlders more accustomed to military juntas patrolling the streets in camouflage and shoulder holsters....these people are armed with a savage determination to take-back the SW (reconquista) by forming fraudulent voting blocs, using any means possible---means that are patently illegal. Clearly, the invaders are way out of their element----unable to circum-navigate a complex and sophisticated world-class superpower, one that is governed by the rule of law. Lawbreaking is not tolerated here. People like Sotomayor would suspend our laws in the pursuit of their racialist agendas.

America will thank Repubs (and others) for ditching this racialist nominee.

I wonder if the American people could identify “Sotomayor” or even define the word “bigot”.

"There is a more basic, epistemological issue at stake: She denies we can have the kind of knowledge necessary to affirm that abortion is morally reprehensible."

That's a valid point.

Someone should have a conference on the epistemology of liberals (and on abortion and the Supreme Court in particular). Obama tries to pass this off with the jargon about "restoring science" to its rightful place. They need to expose the kind of epistemology they are taught at Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, and what it does to their thinking on abortion and embryonic stem cell research.
