Everything from the waist down is BIG. It seems she is expanding before our eyes.
Oh my eyes.
Kirdog
Is she wearing a bustle under that ragbag?
Okay. It is making sense now.
If she perspires like a leaky faucet, the belt is being used like a dam. Putting it over the sweater gives it extra absorption reinforcement.
That's a blue/green/white dress - why would anyone add a yellow cardigan and a purple-accented belt to it? And then travel in this monstrosity while representing our country?
If Laura had made these fashion errors, the press would never have let up....but since it's Zero's Missus, they're trying to convince us she's the second coming of Jackie O!
No, NO, NO!!! Not first thing in the morning! This is a photoshopped picture, right???
Did you ping me so I can be informed or because you want me to suffer??? (Okay, husband is now laughing his head off!)
There’s a caboose on the loose!
Growing up in the 60s, we had a sofa that looked JUST like that dress. Only without the dumb belt and banana-y sweater.
There are absorbing pads you can put under your dress or sweater to keep the perspiration from showing. They are sometimes visible under thin fabric. The sweater and belt will cover them up.
Regarding the belt - it appears to be clear plastic with interchangeable colored buckles - the coral color and the purple color. I’m surprised she hasn’t figured out that she could easily coordinate her shoes with this accessory, why isn’t she wearing the clear (goes with anything) jelly sandals that were popular a while back?
That too. The belt would keep them from falling on the floor were one to slip out of place.
She does seem to be going with an ‘all baby doll’ silhouette these days.
gramma’s curtains for a dress & her daughter’s sweater atop.
wow.. what a KNOCKOUT! /S
In previous threads I always chuckled when someone referenced the drapes, but I swear to all that is good I actually have curtains that look exactly the same as that dress. They were given to me by an older lady when we moved here bringing almost nothing.
What has she added? A clear plastic belt? I guess she heard our guffaws about the black one. snort*
All she needs is to get Mr. O to wear a sweater and the look will be complete!
however she doesn’t cover it up very well. her strange sense of fashion tends to accentuate any bad points.. and her bustle = yup - thank you belt
Exactly my thoughts soon as I saw the two pictures.
Like others, I simply cannot understand why the media insists that she is a fashion icon. It is such a ludicrous assertion that I can’t help but think it is done as a subtle joke of some kind. I just keep thinking, “its a joke, right?”
I guess the clear plastic is better than the leather and studs thing - different buckles even “:-) :-)
Forgive me, I simply cannot accept that this woman has any fashion sense. The flowered shirt dress, sweater and belt are something my grandmother wore to lunch with her friends.
Coral outfit (without the belt) would be appropriate for evening or cocktail wear, but not morning. Blue flowered dress would be great for a garden party with the wife of the PM, but not appropriate travel atire. The white linen dress is crumpled and messy looking.
