Hoyer: Stimulus Slow to Create Jobs, But Time is Not Ripe for New Package ("slow"? Try NONE!)

The House's No. 2 Democrat said Sunday that he is not satisfied with the results of the stimulus so far, but it's too soon to consider a second package since not all of the $787 billion has been released yet.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said the Obama administration inherited an economy that saw 2 million jobs lost in the three months before President Obama took office.

He said only 130 days have passed since the stimulus was enacted and it needs more time to work.

"I don't think anybody can honestly say that we're satisfied with the results so far of the stimulus. But we believe the stimulus was absolutely essential," Hoyer said on "FOX News Sunday."

It’s proving a big bust even for the Acorn crowd. Who’d a thunk this expensive firecracker would be such a dud?

Obama said that if the stimulus bill passed, he had jobs that were shovel ready, the bill passed without being read it was that important to get these jobs going.. guess we are waiting on the shovels, coming from China..

Steny was a moderate until this last election. he then sold his soul to the “dark side” and became Darth Nancy’s whipping boy. He needs to go and retire to a plush consulting job.

Why, despite failure after failure after failure, do the Rats expect throwing money away as government favors and handouts to suddenly create jobs? Isn’t the definition of stupid trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome?

Stimulus = spending bill, not something that would actually stimulate the economy....hence why only 7% has been spent thus far....

I just watched FNS that I DVRed earlier today. I could hardly keep my finger off of the fast-forward button. I used to think Steny Hoyer would be a better Speaker than Pelosi, but, the way he sounded today, there is not a dime's worth of difference between them. Chris Wallace had to keep reminding him that he wanted to talk about the future because all Hoyer could think to do was blame everything on “the last eight years”.

A lot of the zero voters were expecting a Utopian paradise. After all zero promised them he would fix all the problems in the world. Now there losing their jobs, and things are getting worst. Just wait till they get the bill. Sooner or later (more likely later) a significant number of them will wake up. The real purpose of the stimulus is so that zero can steal the election in 2012. When zero feels the fix is in and he can not lose the next election, then look out.

By every measure, the results so far have been to make thing worse. So Hoyer is saying it was essential to make things worse so they could more easily push their socialist agenda.

Someone please tell that dipstick that it will never work. Their hero, FDR, tried that back in the 1930’s and it created jobs via the CCC, WPA and a few others. But they forgot that people making coolie wages don't buy much of anything, like new automobiles or houses. The Washington bunch are nuts.

This fact that the Dems are passing massive bills without even reading them needs to be kept in front of the voters. It’s clear to ANY idiot that it’s totally incompetent. If I were running against any of these incumbents I’d just keep pounding them “Did you actually read the bill?” If they say yes, they’re responsible for the endless absurdities within, and if not (the truth), then why not?...Rinse, repeat.

It wasn’t a stimulus, it was DC hording money for their inner circle to stay in power. You’ll hardly see a dime of it surface until election time next year.
