I dismissed beckett at the point he called Palin a “pinhead woman”. I agree that everyone is free to express their opinion, but his arguments were straight from Kos, you have to admit. Civil discourse is one thing, but taking phrases that would commonly be found at sites that are known for their nastiness is altogether different.

I don’t know how to say this any other way. I know it’s an unpopular view, but after Friday I am concerned how Palin will handle the pressures of the Presidency. She’s had it rough. I think it’s disgusting what has been done to her. I still cannot shake the thought that Washington is a real nut-cracker. It’s going to make Alaska look tame by comparison. If she thinks Letterman will back off when she’s President, oh boy...

You're right, the game has changed completely, but bravery in the face of attack will always be admired and she owed it to her supporters to go head-on against the media and not lay low to let everyone wonder what she'll do next. She's not friggin' Lindsey Lohan!
