"No sitting governor who quits to pursue higher office will be viewed as a serious presidential candidate."
I've seen this sentiment posted repeatedly over the weekend and I am no closer to understanding the mental blockage many freepers seem to possess. You need look no further than our current TOTUS to understand that the 'qualifications' necessary to be 'viewed as a serious presidential candidate' (assuming that eventually she decides to run) are only bound by our own individual prejudices and preconceived notions.
If Mrs. Palin does decide to run for President, I see no person on the right at this time who would have any chance to best her for the nomination.

I do not believe Gov. Palin could win the nomination at this time. I don’t know what the future holds, but do not believe her resignation as governor helps her case. I do believe it is wrong to quit when you made a promise to the people of Alaska. she should have served out her term.
