I've seen an old genealogy of my surname, tracing it from England, to Wales, and then back to Ireland, through one of the old warrior "kings" who holed up in Co. Wicklowe, resisting the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings before them, back through the Tuatha De Danann to Silesia in modern-day Spain, back to Scythia and eventually back to Japheth, son of Noah.

These things were apparently fashionable at one point back in the middle ages, but the Irish do take their ancestral lineages quite seriously.

Am I a descendant of Japheth?

Maybe so.
