How Palin's Resignation Makes Her the True Frontrunner
The Daily Beast ^ | Jul 4, 2009 | John Batchelor

Posted on 07/04/2009 7:04:31 AM PDT by skimbell

Rather than a blow to a career, Sarah Palin's decision to resign underlines her self-awareness, writes The Daily Beast's John Batchelor. She is now unmatched for the 2012 primary. The early excuse for the Republican circular firing squad of the holiday weekend is that Weekly Standard editor and party brainiac Bill Kristol claims that pugnacious McCain campaign enforcer Steve Schmidt has been caught gossiping to Vanity Fair’s Todd Purdum about Sarah Palin’s rambling and incoherent vice-presidential campaign last September and October...

I’ve been praying for a leader to lead us out of the wilderness, and I believe Sarah could be the answer to that prayer. I really, really like her!

She is an outsider now & she is poised to lead the revolution. The left and the RINOs will regret their slimy attacks on her & her family - what is that I smell around them? It’s the smell of FEAR.

GO SARAH! We’ve got your back!

From Wikipedia...

Newts...have the ability to regenerate limbs, eyes, spinal cords, hearts, intestines, and upper and lower jaws and political careers.

BTW, which Newt do you like?
The one that ran out on his cancer stricken wife or the Newt that did the Global Warming Tour with Hildabeast?

I agree that that could be part of the strategy. The pundits, Libtards and rivals who have been attacking her will look silly if they continue. She now can take her case directly to the people and go around her critics.

I was saying this exact thing yesterday on all the threads where the FRino’s here at FR were bashing her. This is definitely a win-win for AK and Sarah.

what you can now expect is for the State Run Media to try and sideline her by denying her any coverage, this however will not happen since she will be given ample coverage by those media sources the left hate so much.

Fox news will increase the amount of viewers by a tenfold.

I wonder if Schmitt has gotten a heads up on the content of Palin’s book and is trying to do a preemptive strike?

Palin does not need to prove anything at all about wise government, because she appeals directly to the anti-authoritarian crowd that has been with us since Shay’s Rebellion in 1787.

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary...

Sara doesn't have a "george soros" to fund her, so we should help out. Even if she doesn't run for President, she is going to be carrying the message and has been carrying the message for a while now. She needs help with the legal bills, etc.

We should all empty out that "penny jar" and start a "Pennies for Palin" fund. I've got to huge penny jars, with probably around $100 in pennies and other assorted change...I'm taking them to that "change counter" thing at the supermarket and converting it into money for Sarah.

To me, just the past few months of her rattling the liberals is worth the money. You can't buy that kind of dem harassment.

[Here is hoping after a couple of days the commentary will change a bit more positive ]

I doubt it will. But two points ought to brighten your outlook:
1) Even her enemies still can’t quit talking about her
2) They were already backbiting and saying she would fail, before she supposedly failed by supposedly quitting.

Not too big of a problem here in Illinoistan. Our state as you probably know is; well, it leans democrat. Anyway, the libtards have designed a new way to control office. The incumbent runs for election, wins and then resigns. The, local, county, or state executive overseeing that office then appoints a "new" elected official and that person then runs in the next cycle as an incumbent.

Been done recently for state representatives, my U.S. Congressman, local judges as well as a variety of locally elected officers.

democrat government at its best!

“I’m beginning to think the GOP doesn’t want Palin and will not let her run. They would be idiots if they did that”

I would say it would be their last and final action as a viable political entity.

"She has a defense fund set up, but it has $150.00 limit. "

I'm no expert at these things, but now that she is becoming a private citizen - not a Governor, not a candidate - there should be no limit on what people donate to help her retire personal dept paying legal bills to defend herself and her family. As long as she uses it all for a defense fund and not as a candidate, then I don't see the problem.

The fact is, if Palin’s situation happened exactly the same way, except she was a Democrat, the consensus among conservatives would be to celebrate a political adversary’s demise and do the rumba.

It takes quite a bit of a lack of clarity to say that somehow, Palin is closer to the presidency in 2012 than she was two days ago.

Now, that may turn out to be the case (who knows, wait and see), but Palin’s announcement don’t portend to crafting a more serious and credible national candidate.

If her ambitions are for 2016 or beyond, as some have suggested, it’s an even more dubious move.

I know many are emotionally invested in Palin (and so am I), but I can’t check my brain at the door. Concocting scenarios where Palin is somehow politically stronger is dubious, at best.

It’s amazing that so many on FR have no clarity on this issue. If she were a dem, they would have no problem calling this like it is.

” I think almost everyone in Washington is using the “round peg” analysis on a “square hole” politician.

Palin is so far out of the paradigm of Washington politics and commentary, that they can’t even begin to do an accurate assessment.”

Absolutely correct. They are so used to Slick Willie, programmed Barry, Gaffer Joe, smarmy Harry, Botoxed Nancy, that they can’t see the real deal and more importantly listen to what she actually said.

with the personal debt of $500,000 that the dems have caused her to endure, the only way she can retire that debt is through book sales

At least she knows how to balance a budget, and can now live on her own earnings not on the public dole to pay off her debts
