Palin decision mystifies some, thrills others
Anchorage Daily News ^ | July 3rd | ERIKA BOLSTAD

If Sarah Palin is stepping down as governor because she has national political ambitions -- and she did not say she intends to run for president -- her move did nothing to shake what GOP pollster Whit Ayers called "the 'lightweight' monkey on her back."

"If you're a serious politician and you're seriously interested in higher office, the best thing you can do is as good a job as possible in the current office,"...

“Add to the mystifing commentators Carl Rove and The Krauthammer. I was dissapointed by both of them re: Palin.”

As far as Rove goes, remember he was Bush’s adviser during his first push for Amnesty, so you can tell he TOTALLY lost touch with the base...and he’s probably clueless as to how deeply popular Sara is. For Kraut...who knows, he is a good guy and might just be not thinking it through.

Rove and Kraut are old guard out of touch inside the beltway.

"..."If you're a serious politician and you're seriously interested in higher office, the best thing you can do is as good a job as possible in the current office,..."

The RATS & their media cohorts would love to keep her there, so that they could bankrupt her & the state of Alaska with continued frivolous law suits, making her job impossible.

Talking about experience is a joke after Obozo was elected!

Look at the chaos our country is in - financially & the daily loss of our freedom, with the so-called experienced poliicians sitting in office right now!!

They totally disregard what the people want & continue to pass laws & spend money with no regard about how it affects the average family. Once they are in office - they work for themselves, to stay in power & disregard the fact that they work for US!

If this is what a "serious politician" is - we need less of them, NOT more of them!

“And Shrillery was a NY state carpetbagger senator for 6 years, before breaking her promise and running for president. Now she’s (ostensibly) Sec. of State.”

And her husband, who promised Arkansas not to run for pres while gov. He PROMISED! I was shocked. Shocked!

Zero didn't quit office. This is the big difference.

Zero didn't have bogus ethics charges filed against him either that prevented him from doing his job.

Thanks for the link to the Levin show. Our local Levin station had a fire yesterday so was off air all day.

His comments on what he is think is going on is worth listening to.

Obama was given a free ride by the media. No strong conservative will get a free ride. Hard and unfair as it is, she should have stayed on if she truly wanted to run for President.

My pleasure! Mark is clearly on board with her decision, and that’s good enough for me!

Palin’s move reminds me a little bit about then-Rep Phil Gramm (TX) who in the 1980s was the only congressman (IIRC) who actually resigned from office when he switched from dem to GOP.

I believe all other party switchers kept their office when they switched to maintain their advantages while running for re-election.

That's true, Zero didn't have the integrity to quit office, he let the taxpayers pay his bills and fill his pockets while he campaigned and left IL without representation.

After listening to “cut 3” on the Levin show of Palin, I am 95% sure she is doing what she needs to to run for President in 2012. It all makes sense now.

GO Sarah GO

Sara unshackled her ball and chain and we will see even better that she is The Conservative Voice of America!

This certainly puts her in a position to drive the Left and its cronies completely crazy! I love it.

I totally agree. She is the anti-Obama, whether or not she runs for office.

If non-candidate, non-officeholder Colin Powell can get attentions as he criticizes Obama, so can Sarah.

It appears that being Alaska governor has turned into a millstone around her neck with the ease of filing specious ethics complaints. In addition, there is probably little more she can do to expedite the gas pipeline.

I do not know how she withstands the vileness of the media. Bush did it by not watching television.
