Sarah Palin martyred for the cause of conservatism
http://LloydMarcus.com ^ | July 4, 2009 | Lloyd Marcus

While watching Sarah Palin's resignation speech, I thought, "Who is this amazing woman? What planet did she come from? Will there ever be anyone like her?" Once again, I was blown away by her power, grace, character and courage.

The world is mourning the loss of a one of a kind pop icon. I mourn the loss of a one of a kind conservative leader martyred for the cause of conservatism. Though impossible for the pop icon, I pray Palin will be resurrected for 2012.

The martyr of Palin has angered, energized, and elevated my commitment to fight for the cause of conservatism. The left was relentless in their quest to destroy Palin and her family with frivolous lawsuits, cruel jokes, lies, and character assassination. The level of hatred for this great woman is unparalleled. I vow, by the grace of God, to fight these EVIL people with all that is in me.

"All that is needed for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing" — Edmund Burke.

Ms. Palin, I salute and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done for proven principles which are best for ALL Americans. May God continue to richly bless you and your family. Please don't go too far away. America needs you more than ever.

She resigned as Governor of Alaska, not as Sarah Palin and not as a Conservative.

Willard Brutus Romney

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House,
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin.
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
He's in charge on November 5th.'"
The Prowler added: "Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
The Romney supporters in the McCain campaign had access to internal polling which indicated well in advance of the November 4 election that McCain had no chance to win.
So they began working to position their man Mitt for a run in 2012. Just two days after the election,The Palmetto Scoop reported:
"One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
These aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"Here’s what I think: I think there are some staffers on the McCain campaign who seriously screwed up the roll out of Sarah Palin, to which Governor Palin herself objected.
These staffers are now out trying to finish her off thinking, as typical D.C. types do, that if they don’t do it to her, she’ll do it to them. They just never understood who Palin is or what she is about."
"Likewise, I do think there are some staffers and others who expect Mitt Romney to run again in 2012,
they decided McCain could not win, and decided to undermine Sarah Palin and her chances hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign? (Mark Wallace, Romney pimp)
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

David Frum: "Two of our most plausible candidates for president in 2012 are leading Mormons: Mitt Romney and Utah governor Jon Huntsman."

David Frum: "I have a lot of regard for Mitt Romney as a man and politician.
Let me say for the record: If Romney emerges as the Republican nominee, I will support him without qualm."

Scumbag 5th-columnist who attacked Gov.Palin, in the 6 weeks before the election,
throwing Election2008 with the rest of TeamRomney.

David Frum: "Frum was indeed a critic of Palin, calling her nomination a "huge mistake" during an October 13 Early Show appearance."

Poor sport spoiler Romney doing what he does best:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

[Romney: A Mistake for McCain, 7/23/2008, Dick Morris]

"Schmidt was importuned by several of the Republican aspirants for president earlier this year.
Mitt Romney sent him an antique chair to symbolize a seat at the table."

"Romney would not say whether he’d been vetted,
but did insist that the vice presidency was a subject he had never even so much discussed with McCain,
with whom he often tangled bitterly in the primary campaign.
So I tried another tack, recalling that I had been in a car with McCain and his then aide John Weaver,
reporting a piece for V.F. in the fall of 2006,
just after McCain delivered an address at Boston College’s opening convocation.
Weaver’s phone rang, and it was someone at B.C.,
informing him that Romney’s office had just called to ask when he would be invited to speak."

"Texan helped McCain secure Romney endorsement
AUSTIN – The decision by Mitt Romney to endorse John McCain didn't just happen, of course. It took a Texan who knows something about uniting fierce political rivals.
John Weaver, Mr. McCain's former political guru, was the intermediary who initiated talks between the two sides that led to Mr. Romney's announcement of support.
...Here's how the two came to make a joint appearance Thursday in Boston: Last week, Mr. Weaver got a call from McCain aides Charlie Black and Steve Schmidt, who asked if he would help broker an endorsement.
Mr. Weaver, who had left the McCain campaign in last year's shakeup, is a longtime friend of Beth Myers, Mr. Romney's campaign manager.."

It’s an odd thing that until yesterday I never paid much attention to Sarah Palin.

I know that she made my vote Nov. 4th for McQueeg more palatable, and I would have been ashamed of that vote without her on the ticket.

But not a cheerleader and honestly haven’t paid much attention to her since then.

But the speech she gave yesterday was a darned good one, and I believe I understand her reasons for resigning.

Which brings us to this article.

Palin is no “martyr.”

I suspect she’ll be back again.

“The bandits only fired once, they shot me in the chest, they may have wounded me, but they will never get the best of better men”

Things like this are making me rethink my long running stance towards not sinking to the level of these assclowns and using their own tactics.

I am just so digusted with all of the personal attacks against anyone standing up as a conservative.

Those Cowards who were the “un-named sources” in the Vanity Fare articles ought to hang their head in shame. Too bad those backstabbers have no shame. Palin has more class and style than any of those Judas’es.McCain should wake up every morning and thank God that she was on his side, because if it wasnt for Palin, he would have been beaten as bad as Carter.
Here wishing Sarah a productive run for the POTUS. She will have everyone I know rooting for her.

I don’t know about martyred, but I am for one excited to see what her next step is. I more than ever believe she will run for President in 2012. I wonder who the first house or senate member who is up for reelection in 2010 will call her. It better not be that horrible Vitter. I predict that it will be Rubio of Florida or I hope so. She is going to be so important in 2010 and 2012. I am so glad that she resigned. It will make it so much better for her to visit Iowa and New Hampshire all through 2010 and 2011. She is so smart!!!!

Romney is a complete troll. Look what he did to “health care” in Massachusetts. TOTAL DISASTER. Republicans must stand against “health reform” —he thought he could do it better than the Rats—and failed miserably because someone HAS to stand against a government role in this fundamental area. Romney didn’t and he should pay for that!

I suspect that what happened is that this good, decent, and dare I say...NORMAL lady just delivered a shot over the bow.

The pundits can’t understand why it was on the eve of Independence Day, (because it conflicts with their picnics on Martha’s Vineyard with the libs) but I can indeed understand it.

She’s had enough. But more importantly, like many of us here, I think she’s SEEN ENOUGH.

Something’s telling me that the next 18 months of life is going to be rather, eh....uncomfortable. Especially if your last name is Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee, etc. These “go along to get along” so called conservatives are going to be exposed for the RINOs they are.

Warning about Sarah:

“Does not play well with others.”

Especially phonies.

I say, bring it on.

No need to feel sorry for Sarah Palin. She is just beginning. Now she is free to hit the lecture circuit and tell it the way it is - and get rich doing so.

I like Sarah Palin, I really do. But I honestly don’t understand this move. I hope it is strictly for personal reasons to get her family out of the vicious mess that the media seems intent on keeping stirred up.

But...using the term ‘lame duck’ for a first term governor with a good bit of her term left was not smart. If this is a launching pad for bigger things, I don’t think it was a wise move.

I wish her the best and hope she can find peace and tranquility away from the skunks of the world like David Letterman, Keith O., and Rachel M. Now there is a axis of evil.

But I honestly don’t understand this move.

She is running a contrarian underdog campaign. She has to be unconventional if she wants to play a decisive role in winning back America.

Being Governor in Alaska was restraining her from the national-level fight in numerous ways: Geographically isolated, bound by petty Alaskan politics and obstructionism, an onslaught of malicious "ethics complaints" that where consuming time and ressources and the difficulty of combining her national-level political activity with the work of a Governor.

She is now free to write and promote her book, hold stump-speeches, raise funds, support other candidates, concern herself with non-Alaskan issues etc.

In her statement she made it abundantly clear that she will continue the fight for Liberty and America.

It's a bold gamble she is playing... but while she closed that little window in Alaska, she opened hundreds gates for America.

Consider the following; When Sarah leaves the Alaska statehouse at the end of July, she’ll be free to campaign, raise money, write articles, etc for conservative causes. Every one of these would result in a series of ‘conflict’ charges put up against her, were she still Alaska’s Republican CEO.
