Like many here, I am a political prognosticator. I followed Sarah Palin here for almost 2 years and told friends last May if McCain only chance is to pick Palin. So what does Sarah Palin's latest move mean?
I don’t think you need to move left to win an election.
You just have to pick the right candidate.
Sarah Palin is not the right candidate.
She hasn’t done her homework and she’s turned herself into a one-woman media circus.
Oh, yeah, and she’s ALREADY LOST TO 0BAMA ONCE BEFORE.
Hello, McFly! Anybody in there?
When something isn’t working, STOP DOING IT.
Romney was the most effective advocate for McCain, and he did have the sharpest teeth.
What part of that do you disagree with?
You still didn’t answer the questions.
Did you prefer McCain to Romney as the GOP nominee?
Did you refuse to support McCain over 0bama?
Who did you vote for? McCain or 0bama?
Or did you stay home and not vote?
Answer honestly, if you have it in you.
.
Nixon lost to JFK for the Presidency
Nixon then ran against Brown for Governor of California - and lost again
Nixon then ran again for President and won two (2) terms
The 60s radicals - including a crooked Hillary railroaded Nixon in network televised impeachment hearings
Quote of the day. Speaking of...where is Mehgs these days? I haven't read a dispatch from Slutz Ultra Lounge in several months.
If Palin decided to form a new party, she would have a lot of support. I think people like Bachmann et al would join her and she could blow the remnants of the liberal controlled GOP out of the water.
I supported Romney in the final stretch of the primaries when it was down to him vs. McCain.
I had supported Fred Thompson until he dropped out.
And I am still waiting for the right candidate to jump in the race for 2012.
So far I haven’t seen that person.
What is clear is that you are pro McCain (now pro Romney) and wanted Romney to assume the vice presidency, making him president next.
Long after the election you are energetically trying to clear the field for Romney so we freepers don’t drive the republican party “over a cliff” with a conservative candidate.
You will have to work even harder than you are lately to move FR left, there are still a handful of threads that you aren’t spamming yet.
Answer my questions.
Did you support Romney or McCain in the final stretch?
Did you vote for McCain or 0bama, or did you sit the election out?
I might have to disagree with that. I'm thinking of a poll a couple of months ago in which 60% of Americans considered themselves "conservative". That got me to wondering why we can't rally that kind of political pool. Well, we can because we've done it in the past. Reagan blew Jimmuh out of the water in a landslide election.
Maybe a new party with a very visible, charasmatic leader (Sarah Palin) is the ticket. Even a jug-eared goof neck like Ross Perot managed to get 20% of the vote after he said he was withdrawing from the race. And that thing about having to join the republicans to win races: what's wrong with the republicans joining the conservatives to win races...?
Dude, step away from the crackpipe!
What makes you think I’m “trying to clear the field for Romney”?
I’m hoping for a better candidate than Palin, Romney, or Huckabee to enter the 2012 race.
And I am pretty confident one will.
We’ve got 3 years.
It’s still a long time away.
Well tell me, have you ever seen someone gather up more Republican support and then implode more spectacularly at the most inopportune time than Sarah Palin?
And now her remaining supporters who refuse to see her for the hot mess she is are tearing the GOP apart, even talking of splitting off to form their own party now.
0bama couldn’t have hoped for a better ally.
Pretty sure she is positioning for 2016 or 2020. She’ll still be young. She can let Romney lose his shirt against the Obama machine.
In the meantime you have a single minded obsession with the person standing in his way.
So you have journeyed from Romney for president, to Romney for vice-president, to eliminating the candidate that has been in his way for the next run for president.
I’m not doing your work for you.
We need a Conservative 3rd Party. Not a Ross Perot ego trip but a real, viable 3rd Party. A party of reformers who want to shake things up. A party that glorify the Constitution.
1. It should be a real party with its own contract with America.
2. It should be ready to field people for all jobs, both state and federal office.
3. It should stick up for things like NO GAY Marriage and NO Amnesty for illegals and No to socialist medicine. It should not be a “big Tent” for all people.
4. It should have a plan to save America not some half-baked slogans.
5. And don’t give me that wasted vote BS. To vote for a RINO is the worst form of vote wasting. As for Ross Perot giving us Clinton—maybe it was a good thing. He balanced the budget when his feet were held too the fire. Would Bob Dole have done that? I think not.
6. A viable 3rd party may force the GOP to the right. If these jokers see they could lose their jobs— they may really serve the people rather than their lobbyists.
Answer the questions.
Did you vote for McCain?
Did you support him or Romney in the final stretch for the nomination?
Are you impugning every FReeper who supported McCain over 0bama, or supported Romney when he was all that stood between McCain and the nomination?
Because you are in the extreme minority here if you are.
Attacking people for picking the best option out of a bad selection isn’t going to get you very far.
So for the 5th time, answer the questions.
You can’t.
And it’s not my work.
No one knows what 2011 will bring.
So it’s too soon to line up behind someone in a race with no declared candidates.
That’s just the point.
I can’t predict the future, so I can’t tell you who I am supporting in 2011/2012.
