Today's disappointing jobs number is certain to trigger a serious push for a second stimulus bill.

The talk was already happening. Earlier this wek, John Judis at The New Republic argued that one was needed. Also this week, Obama responded to a question about a possible second stimulus by saying it was "too soon" to know whether one would be needed, suggesting that it's certainly on the table. Of course, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was in favor of a second stimulus before the ink even dried on the first one, so it shouldn't be much of a stretch to get it through the Congress, especially with the Democrats newly-solidified supermajority in the Senate (welcome Sen. Franken!).

Doubt that a second stimulus will have the political support necessary, IMO. So-called moderate Dems won’t want to have this attached to them in the 2010 mid-term elections, as its now becoming clear to most everyone that the first “stimulus” was simply a giveaway to Obama’s main constituents — unions and people who pay no federal income taxes.

Exactly. As of a few days ago they had only spend 6% of the Porkulus bill. Now they want a second stimulus. Absolutely insane.

This is all about causing Carter-era inflation, which is the ultimate form of wealth redistribution (albeit painful to all).

At least Obama's sincere about 'redistributing wealth'. I'm sure he'll be redistributing a big chunk of that into his own pockets and those of his cronies.

It isn't working because it was never intended to work. It is merely a blank check for the administration to write for handouts to influence the 2010 and 2012 elections.

That is why only 6% of it has been spent through May.

Did anyone happen to hear this morning that Dodd and Kennedy claim they have or can shave/save $600+ billion via program/budget cuts, etc. from the expense of ObamaCare?

Question: What happened to the $634 billion that Obama’s budget (February) set aside for his ObamaCare and why has this not been include/incorporated into the overall cost???!
