Helen Thomas hits White House for lack of transparency Thursday, 02 July 2009 11:11 President Barack Obama answered pre-selected questions Wednesday afternoon about health care sent in from emails, Facebook and Twitter. CBS Chip Reid and columnist Helen Thomas thought this reflected a lack of transparency at the White House.
It feels like the concept of a town hall, I think, is to have an open public forum. And this sounds like a very tightly controlled audience and list of questions. Why do it that way? asked Reid.

OMG I spit my coffee out, literally!! LMAO
They sure should be. I'll bet they were all expecting a return to the clinton days, when there were parties at least once a week, with free drinks and ord'oeuvres on the taxpayer's dime, and a constant stream of Hollywood starlets and Georgetown hostesses circulating among them.
Then Bush moved into the White House and the celebrity parties for the press were over. But at least Bush always treated them politely.
Obama treats them like the dirt on the soles of his shoes. He prearranges the questions and the questioners, he excludes them from all the parties, he won't give them the time of day except when he invites one network or another in for an arranged photo-op, and he makes it clear that he is The One and they are peons whose only purpose in life is to serve him and lick his toes.
Even a liberal could get mad about that, after a few years of such treatment.
Yeah...and it’s only been 5+ months.
You vill lose you fingenailz to zee needle nose pliers, after vich yo vill spend 6 hour vatching da Joe Biden, John McClame intellect hour ... and zen comz da real torture .... a night alone vit Helen Thomas.
A dare you say? Don’t ever let it happen agin. Eef eet does da penalty will be 3 nights wid Helen thomas and a bottle of wezzon oil. Understood??? I dint here yooooo .. Understood???? thank you
Comrade Hiram
Watching my country get torn apart is torture enough and besides... the comrade in charge is against torture.
After staring at that picture for like 10 minutes, I realized there was a chair, a desk, our flag, some windows with a lake in the background, all sorts of stuff.
Helen Thomas’ face - the ORIGINAL “shovel-ready” project.
FYI
Too funny!! Thanks for making my day!
I agree with you on one point my friend, and disagree with you on the the other.
I commiserate with you and am tortured also by our incredible country of freedom and opportunity being torn apart.
I disagree about the comrade Negro being against torture. Like Jimmuh Caatah, there is not a dictator this guy does not love. See Iran, see Honduras, see Chavez ... he loves torturing those that love and demand their God given birthright. Freedom.
May we recover and regain this country before it is too late .. a point we are rapidly approaching ... is my prayer.
Deb,
I think I like you! Not every day does a woman tell me to “shut up” when I don’t even know her! haahaaahaaaa
(Assuming of course, that “Deb” is a woman!)
Now - I did like this video of the giggly nervous Gibboy.
He is a twit at best - a peachy boy that would do just anything for his Big 0.
The Youtube link only has 303 hits so far. It should have 300 million hits. The guy and Helen Thomas should be honored for making an attempt. Let’s see if they ever get invited back or asked for their question again.
It should have been Zer0 getting this questioning DURING the TownHall REPEATEDLY!
Thanks Deb! You can tell me to shut up anytime...and thank you for the pingy ping ping.
Obiwan will give her a smooch and let her sit up front at the next conference and all will be forgiven.
ROFLMAO!
No cankles there.
LMAO!!!!!!
On Palin by the lake......
Why if I were an Alaskan alligator - I’d bite me off a.....
