Christie Makes Inroads Among NJ Democrats Against Corzine
CQ Politics ^ | 7/1/09 | CQ Politics

Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie is leading New Jersey Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine 45 percent to 39 percent with 15 percent undecided, according to a Fairleigh Dickinson University poll conducted June 22-29. The margin of error is 3.5 points.

That’s somewhat closer than a Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday in which Christie led 51 percent to 41 percent, but Fairleigh Dickinson’s Peter Woolley says “Even though it’s early in the campaign, it is remarkable that a Republican is running ahead in New Jersey.”

NJ is the land of heartbreak for the GOP. We usually run ahead early and then magically the race will tighten to a “tie” two weeks out and the GOP candidate ends up “losing” by at least five points.

Any Republican Candidate needs to be flirting with 10% in NJ going into election day to overcome the margin of fraud.

Well it says here that Corzine is pretty unpopular with even Democrats and that Christie is getting significant support from Dems. There seems to be a glimmer of hope. We’ll have to see.

I do hope so. I would love to see Corzine go down in flames. I just have learned not to get my hopes up when it comes to Republicans winning in the NE.

As always, the polls fail to track the reliable, come election day, residents who reside in the cemeteries of Essex and Camden counties.

A ham sand which is more popular than Corzine.

NJ failed again to elect a fiscal and moral conservative, Lonegan. You can expect more of the same with Christie. He's another RHINO that used mud slinging and exaggeration to get elected. Christie doesn't have a plan or clue on what to do.

Candidate Christie was hauled before the House Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law as an expert witness on the practice of deferred prosecution agreements.

Christie called it a "media circus" orchestrated by Democrats to embarrass his and thwart his campaign. House Democrats on the subcommittee embarrassed themselves by trying to embarrass Christie solely as a way of undermining his gubernatorial campaign.

Fact is the $52M deferred prosecution agreement deal Christie publicly awarded was NOT taxpayers money.

But $17.5 BILLION federal stimulus Obama gave to Corzine IS taxpayers' money.....and cannot be accounted for.

One prominent editorial opined: Corzine promised complete transparency WRT $17.5B federal stimulus money . But there is virtually no information on recipients of the federal largess via a Web site. — www.recovery.nj.gov.

The NJ Recovery Accountability Task Force was created by Corzine to review every step of the process and ensure that recovery funds are awarded based on clear and appropriate criteria and then distributed in a prompt, fair and reasonable manner. The Web site, as currently constituted, does none of that.

Hey, Democrats---- what do you know about this $17.5B ripoff? And when are you going to hold hearings on it? All America wants to know----what's Corzine doing with $17.5 BILLION tax dollars?

Democrats hauling Christie before the House Subcommittee to derail his campaign against Corzine sounds more of the nefarious work of Rahm "Uriah Heep" Emanuel.

David Copperfield's ingratiating scoundrel fits Rahm to a tee. Uriah Heep was notorious for wielding undue influence, a manipulative bounder who was always planning and plotting, ingratiating himself into the confidence of others. Uriah Heep was obsequious, manipulative, and wormed his way into positions of influence. Uriah was a consummate con man, and not to be trusted.

Translated into the language of the popular culture, Uriah Heeps, like Rahm, position themselves as amenable to American qualities of compassion, but are insincere in these feelings; he uses important issues to advance his hidden agendas and political ambitions.

Like Uriah Heep, power-hungry Rahm feeds on others, and deploys self-serving strategies for his own self-absorbed purposes.

Rahm evinces an utter contempt for our culture and is obsessed with party politics. Watch him on TV---Rahm coyly speaks the language to appeal to American values, but he is not a true believer, he is a calculating conniver----a latter-day Uriah Heep.

Yeah-—that’s the best part.

I say we hold off negotiations to impeach Obama until after he ditches Uriah Emanuel.

You seem to confuse Republicans with small government types. The former get elected all the time; the latter are more akin to Sysiphus.

First,Corzine paid 80 million for his Senate seat;the he paid nearly 60 million for the governorship. With Odingas withholding billions in bailout money to be spent in 2010,you can bet any Dim in a close race will have as much taxpayer money as is needed to overwhelm any challenger. As they sya in New Jersey, fuggedaboudit.

Another RINO. He may win, but he is certainly no Republican, as the three from the Gang of Eight proved last week.

I was speaking with a former co-worker who has been Democrat since conceived; heWants to get rid of Corzine, but considers Christie a 'snake'.
This man is very disappointed that Lonegan is not running.
