July 2009 sees nearly 6 months since George W Bush entered private life and as we have done in previously monthly threads I have collated photos from the month we are in from previous years.

Tonight I will post July 2001 and July 2002 photos and then over the next few days post 2003 and 2004 photos.

I have also found some photos from this June which I will also post in the next few days starting with one of them as the photo of the month.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

Well, you are right about that! I have a big ole smile on
my face and can forget for a few minutes that we have a
complete buffoon in the white house nowadays.

Ahhhh....for the days of a year ago!

THE BUSH JUDICIAL LEGACY, BY THE NUMBERS
Tony Mauro, The National Law Journal
On Thursday July 23, 2009, 3:02 am EDT

The latest issue of Judicature is out, and it offers the most comprehensive empirical look yet at the judicial legacy of former President George W. Bush. The always valuable magazine published by the American Judicature Society comes to the conclusion that “his judicial legacy may well be Bush’s most enduring accomplishment,” as one article puts it.

Through 59 confirmed appointments to appeals courts, 261 to the district courts and two to the Supreme Court, “They definitely achieved the goal of moving the federal bench in a conservative direction,” says longtime Judicature editor David Richert.

Thanks for the ping DrDeb. Jenna's interview was very nice. She has certainly grown up. She sounds a lot like Lady Laura with her speech, intonation, head movements, and words. Never noticed that before.

(Had hoped she was going to say that GW and Lady Laura were going to be grandparents. ;-)

MUST READ . . .

PRESIDENT OBAMA’S EVERY SPEECH DOES ONE THING: IMPROVES GEORGE W BUSH’S LEGACY
July 27, 12:24 PM

President George W. Bush always was a class act. Always. Since his departure from the White House, he has remained generally out of the spotlight and has said very little about his administration or that of his successor. In an interview, he once said that his spirituality and faith enabled him to feel true peace without the need for public retaliation. Say what you want about his policies, I doubt anyone can fault him for his faith and sticking to his convictions and not being ruled by opinion polls. He is still a class act.

AT LEWISVILLE WAREHOUSE, ARCHIVISTS CATALOG ITEMS FOR GEORGE W BUSH PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AT SMU
12:00 AM CDT on Monday, July 27, 2009
By Lori Stahl / The Dallas Morning News

What do Saddam Hussein’s pistol, a mosaic from the pope and a bat from the National Baseball Hall of Fame have in common?

Those items and about 40,000 others are part of the massive collection of documents, artifacts and memorabilia that former President George W. Bush amassed during eight years in the White House.

[NOTE: THE ARTICLE MENTIONS THAT GWB/THE LIBRARY WILL HOLD A GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY IN 2010 — PERHAPS THIS COULD BE A TIME AND PLACE THAT WE DOSERS COULD MEET FOR AN AWESOME ‘GET TOGETHER’!]
