July 2009 sees nearly 6 months since George W Bush entered private life and as we have done in previously monthly threads I have collated photos from the month we are in from previous years.
Tonight I will post July 2001 and July 2002 photos and then over the next few days post 2003 and 2004 photos.
I have also found some photos from this June which I will also post in the next few days starting with one of them as the photo of the month.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Whose house is that?
Pres. and Laura Bush’s, according to the article link. they obviously painted and upgraded the exterior from what I remember of the first pictures.
Have no clue, but I’m sure the SS
will be doing whatever needs to be
done.
They’d better! ;-)
I know that picture is taken from above, but wasn’t Laura and George W.’s house a RANCH house? Unless it has undergone EXTENSIVE renovations, including a hugh second story addition, the house in that picture doesn’t look anything like the house we’d seen pictures of last December.
A MUST READ COLLECTION FOR THE WEEK . . .

SORRY BARACK: YOU CAN’T BLAME THE BOGEYMAN FOR YOUR RECORD BUDGET DEFICITS, TOO
By: Jim Hoft
On July 11, 2006, the Bush Administration announced they were revising midyear budget estimates. They changed their projections after they discovered that greater than expected tax revenues would drop the deficit below 300 billion dollars. Budget Director Rob Portman drove home the message later that day telling reporters that this latest revision was proof that the administration’s tax cuts were working.
This wasn’t a one time event. During the Bush years, despite the 2000 Recession, the attacks on Sept. 11, the stock market scandals, Hurricane Katrina and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Bush Administration was able to reduce the budget deficit from 412 billion dollars in 2004 to 162 billion dollars in 2007, a sixty percent drop. In 2004, the federal budget deficit was 412 billion dollars. In 2005, it dropped to 318 billion dollars. In 2006, the deficit dipped to 248 billion dollars. And, in 2007, it fell below 200 billion to 162 billion dollars. During the Bush years, the average unemployment rate was 5.2 percent, the economy saw the strongest productivity growth in four decades and there was robust GDP growth. These were amazing accomplishments considering the unexpected challenges. You certainly didn’t read much about this in the press.

Stock Market Analysis: Bush vs. Obama Stimulus Plans
Now that 6 months have passed since Obama’s “stimulus plan” has passed, I thought it useful to examine the stock market reaction to Obama’s plan and compare it to the reaction of President Bush’s 2003 stimulus plan.
Bush’s plan passed in April 2003 while Obama’s passed in February 2009. I chose the S&P 500 Index starting point one month prior to passage because the market typically discounts the information beforehand as the bills work their way through Congress. I chose 6 months-post passage as the ending point because that’s all the data we have for Obama’s plan so far.
Bush: From March 2003 to October 2003, the S&P 500 went from 835 to 1034 or 23.8%.
Obama: From January 2009 through July 2009, the S&P went from 932 to 879 or -5.2%.

THE FOLLOWING WILL GIVE YOU A QUICKER VIEW OF THE EXTERIOR/INTERIOR OF THE PRESIDENT AND LAURA’S DALLAS HOME

Thanks, Deb ... would love to see how Laura changed the interior. I like the new color outside .. classy. Also, I believe they added a pool in the back.
Thanks for all the Must Read’s, DrDeb. Would you please add me to your ping list? Thanks!
Perfect for those of us who were too impatient to take the long way. ;)
I too would love to see how Laura has changed the interior . . . May be some day she’ll invite us over for a backyard BBQ — a girl can dream can’t she?!
Consider yourself added!
I’m an impatient sort myself — particularly when it comes to the President!!
Reminder: President Bush and four other former presidents will be featured in a video preceeding the All Star game tomorrow night . . . The Imposter actually plans to throw out the first pitch — this should be good!
(Visions of THE President's perfect strike in Yankee Stadium dancing in my head. :)
(Just curious........ ;)
Oh yes ... where would we be without our dreams ? ;)
late to the party once again.. loved the links, pix, info.. thanks to all.. and wow the sweet memories.. His trip to Africa in 2003 quite a bit different in so many ways than the recent POTUS visit..
and man, how nice to see WHAT A FIRST LADY SHOULD DRESS LIKE! Several of the first ladies in Africa could give FLOTUS some pointers
The white house posted supposed to be GWB... perhaps 41’s home?
I can hopefully join you for lunch Aug/Sept ohioWfan & Deb. depending on so many home front things
get better Snugs. Summer colds are the pits.
Loved the peeks into the home of GWB.. and what fun to see the bedroom, closet & bathroom... I guess not normally found in this sort of thing, but of course of BIG interest to Dosers.
Here's a previous aerial view....
That fits more with the front view from the street....
Wonder whose house that other one is? I don't think Bush41 and Barbara live in a house that big, but I may be wrong.
It showed the Daria Place house from the air, and I think this photo is the right one based on that video.
