July 2009 sees nearly 6 months since George W Bush entered private life and as we have done in previously monthly threads I have collated photos from the month we are in from previous years.
Tonight I will post July 2001 and July 2002 photos and then over the next few days post 2003 and 2004 photos.
I have also found some photos from this June which I will also post in the next few days starting with one of them as the photo of the month.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Thanks Dr.Deb for Your message and the pepetual pings, perpetual thanks!
Cool Birthday Tribute to Pres. B. Luvee! :)
Thanks for the response!
Nice!
Here’s a video I wandered across .. never saw it or knew (thank you, MSM) of the uproarious reception Pres. Bush got in Albania in 2007. OMG .. they went crazy wild seeing him .. “Booshie .. Booshie .. Booshie”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKDdF6vfjoo
The Secret Service earned their weight in gold that day. God bless Nick .. he was probably holding him by his belt loops to keep him standing.
The article explains why the exultation from the crowds, and the mystery of his ‘lost’ wristwatch, which I’d also not heard. From the video, about the 1:00 mark, it does look like it just ‘disappeared’ ............... LOL.

I remember the incident with the watch and if I recall correctly it was explained by the White House
STARWISE: THANK YOU for posting the videoclip from Albania — these people truly understood President Bush’s ‘FREEDOM’ agenda!

REMEMBERING TONY SNOW’S LIFE
By Dana Perino
He had dreadful taste in ties, and so we kept spares to switch out before he went on TV. He was charmingly forgetful, regularly losing his wallet and his BlackBerry, sometimes both in one day. One of his BlackBerrys was actually found in a winter boot a few weeks later it was summer.
By far, the greatest quality of his life was his love for his family. Im talking total devotion. He could be brought to tears just talking about how caring and sweet Jill is. He sought to protect her, an attractive woman who prefers not to be in the spotlight, at all times. For her 50th birthday, he threw a huge party and wrapped 50 little presents. He told me theyd moved the couches against the walls of the living room and danced like teenagers until the wee hours of the morning. I have long thought that if every woman could be loved just for one day the way he loved Jill, the world would be a happier place.

PRESIDENTIAL RECORDS A TIME CAPSULE OF BUSH YEARS
By Jeff Carlton
LEWISVILLE, Texas (AP) Spread upon a table are a sampling of gifts to former President George W. Bush: a purse made of vines from the Thai queen, a Texas Rangers jersey autographed by pitcher Nolan Ryan and a framed mosaic of St. Peter’s Basilica from the pope.
The gifts, documents and electronic records accumulated during Bush’s two terms have gone from the White House to a warehouse in suburban Dallas, just a few miles north of a turnpike named for his father. They will remain there until Bush’s $300 million presidential library the nation’s 13th and the third in Texas opens in 2013 on the Southern Methodist University campus near downtown Dallas.

VOLUNTEERS HONORED WITH A SPECIAL DINNER AT THE GEORGE W BUSH CHILDHOOL HOME 7/7/09

I’m sure he won’t settle for anything less
than full and perfect protection.
The repugnant deed was the global publishing
of this ... it’s simply beyond despicable.
Wow. Thanks for the wonderful articles, DrDeb!
Those were heady days!
You’re welcome ... they were over the moon! Incredible to see.
Those events leave marks .. historical, generational marks.
That article about Tony Snow brought tears to my eyes. I can’t believe that on the 12th it will have been a year since we lost this wonderful conservative man. He did indeed love his family the best!
You’re quite welcome — now I’ve got to get to bed. I’m hosting a huge college orientation tomorrow — it seems as thought I’m working 24/7 these days . . . As you’ve experienced, this summer is just TOO busy!
Let’s start thinking about a September lunch date!

I couldn’t agree more!
Tony Snow, Dana Perino and Ari Fleisher the best White House press secretaries imo
Yes, they were articulate, intelligent and had a sense of humor (which came in handy when dealing with Helen Thomas)
if the current press secretary had a brain, he’d take it out and play with it! What a doofus!
I would agree completely.
It seems like only yesterday that hubby and I were chatting with Tony at a GOP fundraiser . . . He was such a wonderful person.
I may be able to squeeze in a late August date if that works for you. (I'm so old, I can use my new Golden Buckeye card to pay. LOL!)
Good luck on the orientation. Don't work too hard!
Boy!! Am I jealous! I was supposed to meet him here. He was
scheduled to speak here at the university and then died a month before it was to happen. We had talked about his coming on his thread. I was devastated.....
*sniff*
So great to see this...thanks so much for finding it, STAR!
