(AGI) - Jerusalem, 1 July - Six persons who had demonstrated against the regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have reportedly been hanged in Iran, reported the Jerusalem Post, based on a telephone call with a source in Tehran.
The hanging would have taken place in Mashhad.
The news hasn't been confirmed, but the same source quote a sermon delivered by ayatollah Hadi Gafouri in which he urges protesters to be careful because they are risking their lives.

Although the article claims that the demonstrations are dying down and the amount of Twitter traffic is down, this will not go away.
Poor Persian people, they need our prayers.

So it has now become a capital crime to disagree with election fraud? That’s the way to win support. /s
The government of Iran has become undeniably illegitimate.

There are going to be many people disappearing over there. You know they are on video tape. The facist (Obama supported) regime is going to murder thousands of them.
They really needed to go ahead and get it on, once they stepped into the streets.

I went over to the Jerusalem Post and found nothing in the on-line version. That said it was reported as coming from a phone report from Iran.
It is believeable, they are desperate to stay in power. Evil men.

Well, if they’ll shoot people, they’ll hang them.
It does sound typical of this type of regime.

There were some reports yesterday of 2000 people arrested, and 1000 people killed.
It will be some time before there is a clear picture of what is happening.

That's my concern: being driven as a popular uprising, the protests will just fizzle out. There is no viable plan being executed, just random yelling; as such people eventually get tired and have to return to their lives. So long as the mullahs can withstand the onslaught, the storm will wane and their subjects return to their chains.
The American Revolution, and others like it (China), succeeded because there was a long-term organized committment to planned success. Some revolts succeed because the powers that be do succumb to the onslaught (Romania, France), but those required a direct, er, hands-on approach. Iran is just about lots of yelling; people get tired of yelling, and those being yelled at come to ignore it.

The rioters, unwilling to do the same, can only lose.

This is still impossible to predict. The citizens are not armed, or it would not be like this.
All it would take for this to go-off is for 1 Military commander to defect. It would then be on.
Or outside arms smuggled in, would bring on a gorilla war that could escilate.
The election was clearly a fraud, and everyone knows it.
Islamic governments like Communism can only exist with repression. Nature of the beast.
Freedom is incompatible with dictatorial government.

I agree. Still, if the protesters do turn violent, the government could point to it to justify even worse actions. It’s a sticky situation.
