Conyers Refuses to Investigate ACORN

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) has had a change of heart regarding his earlier decision to investigate the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

He now says he is no longer planning to investigate ACORN, which is under fire for vote-fraud accusations in last year's presidential election. But why the change of heart? Conyers, faithfully adhering to the blame-casting game that has long held sway in Congress, weakly and obtusely laid the fault for this recent reversal at the feet of purposely unidentified “powers that be.”

"The powers that be decided against it," Conyers told the Washington Times last week.

But what powers, specifically? Who's wields enough clout to get the powerful committee chairman, who's been in Congress for over 40 years, to reverse himself? Conyers would not say. "The chairman declined to elaborate, shrugging off questions about who told him how to run his committee and give the Democrat-allied group a pass," the Washington Times reported. continued at link

“Powers that be...”

Getting warmer, who is the puppeteer behind the Democratic Party? The Dems were always left-center, but their recent swing to the radical left is astonishing. I know this much: it is not accidental.

Look for the Justice Department to arrive at a sweetheart plea deal with Mrs. Conyers in about, I’d say, 2 months.

Poor little Conyers is not getting a lot of good press lately, what with this and his wife pleading guilty to bribery charges.

And yet he will be voted in by the people of Detroit like clockwork no matter how corrupt he is, all due to his skin color.

"The powers that be decided against it," Conyers told the Washington Times last week.

Obviously, he has been "strong-armed" into stopping the investigation.

The man is an abject coward if he does not name names as to who is calling the shots on this one.

Conyers is covering his arse, among a load of others, by his CONTINUED thwarting in having ACORN thoroughly investigated.

Well, well. “Powers to Be” has some power indeed.

I wonder if this “Powers to Be” also has the power to fire Inspector Generals.

Forget the constitution, we’re talking about real power here, folks.

Hmm..it’s time for Rasmussen to do some national polling. Lets see what the American voters feel about the Democrat’s lack of interesting in ACORN.

"The powers that be decided against it," Conyers told the Washington Times last week.

I can't believe Conyers was capable of making such an admission.

I guess he got his payoff from TARP/acorn.

Didn't his wife just get a plea bargain that will result in no jail time? Hmmmmmm

From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us or rwor.org) :

"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning.

And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

Conyers is in luck - well, I guess he knows that - the MSM - being totally owned by their Democrat pimps - won't be sending any investigative reporters to uncover dem corruption ... well, unless one dem is trying to take out another dem. Pimps and Ho's have turf battles sometimes... I guess he doesn't have any more to worry about than the gay Duke University monster who tried to sell his five year old black adopted son for adult rape parties. "Daddy" said "anything" could be done to the child.

Where's the press on this issue?

Well, they'll all come a running if they catch a Repubican jaywalking.

You nailed it!

Conyers was told to drop the ACORN probe or his wife will be prosecuted and forced to talk about the sweetheart deals she got via her husband.....ending his political career.

He drops the probe....she gets a deal and stays silent.
