National Society of Newspaper Columnists Gives Palin 'Sitting Duck' Award
By E&P Staff
Published: June 30, 2009 2:32 PM ET NEW YORK She may not have won the Vice Presidency, but Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin did receive a consolation prize from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists (NSNC): the Sitting Duck Award.
Palin, running mate of GOP nominee John McCain, was selected for the award at the NSNC's Annual Conference, held last weekend in Ventura, Calif. She was nominated for "showing it's hard to put your best foot forward when it's in your mouth," according to the NSNC Web site. The Sitting Duck Award is given annually to the person "to whom columnists have turned in the last 12 months, when he or she is desperate for a topic and has to meet a deadline." Impeached Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich finished as the runner-up in the voting.
Palin did not appear to accept the award.

This very award, which openly admits that columists write garbage out of desperation just to fill space, shows how lame and devoid of susbstance the media really is. Buying a newspaper is like paying to see a sports event where the umpires are deliberately slanting calls for a favored team. Who would pay to see such a game?
The only clue they have of who the real woman is scares the bejabbers out of them.
Id like to see some examples of occasions when her foot was in her mouth. (I dont seem to recall her saying that she had visited 57 states.)

And I’m certain she never recommended using a breathalyzer for asthma! Was that to save health care costs, too? I can’t recall.
...or indeed somewhere else, also four-letters, but beginning with the letter "a".
What did she say to “put her foot in her mouth”?
I notice they didn’t list anything. Pricks.
Their "award" says volumes about the newspaper columnists and little about Sarah Palin.

Well said.
If anyone still gets a dialy newspaper, STOP!
There is enough vitriol in this “award” to put these papers out of business forever.
Gov. Palin may not have been the strongest candidate ever for VP, but she fought the race well, spoke eloquently and represented the party honorably. There is no way she deserves the disrespect these morons CONTINUE to hurl her way.
They are all pathetic, and I do hope the jobs at these papers are all eliminated soon. These people do not deserve to earn their living, if this is how they operate.
They should give themselves an award for:
The communication entity that people with a brain pay no attention to anymore.”
Each member of this pathetic "National Society of Newspaper Communists....oops, Columnists" should be the one to get an award....for "Excellence in Quack Journalism".

The Loping Mule, or the Choking Chicken.
These newspaper columnists just watched a left-wing neophyte get elected President, and they said nothing. What have they got to be smug about?
It is amazing how the left and the MSM is so afraid of this woman.
