The National Republican Senatorial Committee spent nearly $1 million on Norm Colemans legal fees to back the Republican's appeals and draw out the Minnesota Senate race.
But now that the state Supreme Court made its final ruling, NRSC Chairman John Cornyn said he "respects" Coleman's decision to concede:
"Throughout the last several months, Senate Republicans have made clear that the people of Minnesota, not politicians in Washington, should decide this election. Now that the courts have spoken, I join Norm in respecting that decision and moving forward to address the important issues facing our country....

I can’t help but think of this as a “It will help us in the long run” sort of thing. Think about Al “I’m an A-hole” Franken in the Senate. If he acts the way he has his whole life, he might help the Republicans get millions more votes next election.
And let’s face it. Al just can’t control himself.
Republicans are always such good LOSERS
Was a million dollars worth keeping Franken out of the senate for six months? Maybe... Obama’s political momentum in his own party is beginning to stall, so the 60th vote may not be such a big deal now.
Still, I always thought Coleman had a better chance arguing this under Bush vs Gore (differential treatment of ballots in various counties) rather than a technical challenge based on MN law.... so not sure why they’re pulling the plug now without testing this in District Court.
Dead “voters” and supposed people who INTENDED to vote decided this election. Republicans will not get one more dime of my money until they learn to fight.
JC and KBH—two peas in a pod.
Yeah but does he respect his wife. LOL
The Honorable "Senator" from Minniesoooooda!
Like Franken, Iran's loser-named-winner, Ahmadinejad, got even more votes on the re-count than he got on the first stuffed-ballot-box count.
If it is any consolation, Franken will embarrass himself and the Nazicrats before too long.
Does anyone know when the last time Kennedy and Byrd voted in the Senate? Without them I don’t think they can break a filibuster, but, I would not bet on them not showing up in their death bed, or, even, after they are dead. After all it was the dead that elected Franken.
