What a load of crap. My employer doesn't GIVE me any money, I EARN every damn cent and I am entitled to ALL of the money earned. The Gov. takes her big share, true. But it is still my money, not the gov.s

your best course of action to head off a smaller refund or, heaven forbid, a tax-due bill

Why is this idiot website advocating that we load our money to the government (interst free, even)?

Why is is "heaven forbid" a tax-due bill?

Why should I loan them money?

I swear when the country finally starts going to blows with each other the IRS better be one of the first things that gets dismantled when we take our country back, along with the other rogue agencies.

Am I the only one that noticed they spelled “entitled” wrong? Don’t they have an editor? It has since been corrected on the Comcast site.

Notice it’s a cut in the payroll tax. As I understand it, they cut the amount withheld, but we’ll still owe the same amount at tax time. Better in my pocket than theirs, but if people think this is a tax cut, they are wrong...

Obama's sleight of hand was to direct employers to withhold less payroll taxes than you will actually owe by April 15, 2010. You still owe the same amount of tax. If you have a refund of income tax, it will be reduced by the amount of payroll tax that wasn't assessed during the year. That's going to slap some minimum wage folks with a tax bill. High income earners will have paid beyond the maximum limit, thus won't have any extra due. Most people will fall in the middle and have some of their income tax refund redirected to cover the shortfall in payroll tax collection.
