AP NewsBreak: SC gov admits additional liaisons

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Tuesday that he saw his Argentine mistress more times than previously disclosed, including what was to be a farewell meeting in New York chaperoned by a spiritual adviser soon after his wife found out about the affair.

In a lengthy and emotional interview with The Associated Press in his Statehouse office, the governor described five meetings with Maria Belen Chapur over the past year, including two romantic, multi-night stays with her in New York before they met there again intending to break up.

He said he met her two other times - their first meeting in 2001 at an open-air dance spot in Uruguay and a coffee date in New York in 2004 during the Republican National Convention. He said neither time was romantic.

It was the first disclosure of any liaisons with Chapur in the United States and contradicted a public confession last week during which Sanford admitted to a total of four encounters over their eight-year relationship.

He previously announced he would reimburse the state for money spent during a government trip to Brazil and Argentina in June 2008 when he saw Chapur. He insists no public money was used for any other meetings with her.

Trying to love two women is like a ball and chain.
Trying to love two women is like a ball and chain.
Sometimes the pleasure ain’t worth the strain.
It’s a long old grind, and it tires your mind.

Trying to hold two women is tearing me apart.
Trying to hold two women is tearing me apart.
One’s got my money, the other’s got my heart.
It’s a long old grind, and it tires your mind.

When you try to please two women, you can’t please yourself.
When you try to please two women, you can’t please yourself.
At best it’s only half good; a man can’t stock two shelves.
It’s a long old grind, and it tires your mind.

here is another difference between Republicans and Democraps. I am a Republican and watch this:

“HEY STUPID JUST SHUT UP AND RESIGN ALREADY”

Democraps would applaud his ‘lifestyle choice’ and his wife would look on tenderly as he told us the sleazy details (except he would probably be describibg his gay lifestyle)

Why hasn't this AH been arrested?

You know it’s bad when they start bringing in the “spiritual advisers.” I mean, there’s not a whole bunch of “spiritual advice” that a man needs in a situation like this—the whole thing can be summed up in just a few words, like “don’t do that crap no more.”

Headline is misleading, reads as if there were more than one “other woman.” It’s kinda ironic that they first met on a dance floor. I assume he was teaching her the beach dance, supposedly invented on the SC Grand Strand: “The Shag”!

Is his wife still with him? I’d tell him to take a long walk off a short pier...as my Mother used to say!

I can’t wait until Obama’s penchant for prostitutes comes to light... too bad the Left would like him even more because of it

“HEY STUPID JUST SHUT UP AND RESIGN ALREADY””

I disagree. He’s a loser, mind you.

And he has no business running for re-election, but he needs to make sure there is a proper heir, then step down.

Why hasn't this AH been arrested?

Please, if my job sends me to the east coast, Virginia, and I have free time, I'm not supposed to go meet any FReepers there that I am friends with?

If he conducted business on the trip and only saw her on free time, he doesn't owe the state a thing.

That's not saying that he's not still a scumbag for cheating on his wife.

Do we know how many times Edwards met with his mistress? Really, do we care? Why does it matter? No one is going to believe anything either of them say anyway. He should just STHU and go away.

Torn Between Two Lovers...

There are times when a woman has to say what's on her mind
Even though she knows how much it's gonna hurt
Before I say another word let me tell you I love you
Let me hold you close and say these words as gently as I can

There's been another man that I've needed and I've loved
But that doesn't mean I love you less
And he knows you can't possess me and he knows he never will
There's just this empty place inside of me that only he can fill

Torn between two lovers, feelin' like a fool
Lovin' both of you is breakin' all the rules
Torn between two lovers, feelin' like a fool
Lovin' you both is breakin' all the rules

You mustn't think you've failed me just because there's someone else
You were the first real love I ever had
And all the things I ever said, I swear they still are true
For no one else can have the part of me I gave to you

I couldn't really blame you if you turned and walked away But with everything I feel inside, I'm asking you to stay

Torn between two lovers
Feelin' like a fool
Lovin' both of you is breakin' all the rules

What kind of idiotic “ spiritual advisor “ would
agree that you should meet and break up in person.
She deserves no respect or consideration. Nor, of course
does he, and if he were trying to fix the mess he made
he would not have gone to see her. He is a fraud and a
creep.

I think this song is more appropriate:

She say’s her love for me would never die
But that’d change if she ever finds out about you and I
oh - but her love is cold
It wouldn’t hurt her if she didn’t know cause...
When it gets to much - I need to feel your touch

I’m gonna run to you
I’m gonna run to you
cause when the feelin’s right I’m gonna run all night
I’m gonna run to you

She’s gotta heart if gold she’d never let me down
But you’re the one that turns me on
You keep me comin’ round
I know her love is true
But it’s so damn easy makin’ love to you
I got my mind made up - I need to feel your touch

Jesse Jackson had his own problems when the was ministering to Bill Clinton.

At the beginning of all this, is was speculated that he had used a fake passport when he went to Argentina. Has anything come of that?

But feel free to legitimize this corrupt, lying government official.

Apparently you have an issue comprehending the written word.
Go back and read my post again.

If he didn't have business there why would the state send him in the first place? Just because he asked to go?

IF, and that's an if, he instituted the trip, and the state said, paraphrasing, "You know, that's a good idea. You need to go do that", and sent him, that's one thing.

If the trip was instituted by the state and he said, again paraphrasing, "I'll go and do that", it's still no big deal if he did the business.

If he instituted the trip AND said that he was the one that needed to go, that's another thing altogether.
