DEARBORN, Mich. Citing better-than-expected sales and traffic at dealerships, Ford Motor Co. said Monday it plans to increase third-quarter production by 25,000 units, marking the automaker's second production hike in recent weeks.

Yep. I wonder if Ford did any customer surveys to see if they snagged any former GM loyalists.
Go Ford Go!!!
Anybody seen clever logos and the like using the fact Ford is still a private company?
Wow I’m shocked
Would never had cosidered a ford never owned a ford
That’s the only vehicle I would buy new now
General Motors and Chrysler didaway with so many of their dealerships, saying they could make more money with less dealerships. I havent heard of Ford selling out their dealers, and yet they are making more cars.
Government has no business in the car business.
Were I to purchase a new vehicle I’d sure give Ford a look long before I went with a Dodge or Chevy at this point.
Hell, I’d buy a Toyota before a chevy or dodge.
Ford did themselves proud by telling obamma lamma to take his bail out and go packing.
I wonder how GM feels about being nationalized now. Even with Community-Organizer-for-Life obama as owner, they can’t make us buy their trash. I hope the demand shift from GM to Ford will kill the idea of any future nationalizations. [Meanwhile ... as the socialists discuss how to nationalize health care ...]
Ford is still UAW; I wonder whether US made transplant is a better choice. Just asking.
I am willing to bet that the largest demand of the three sited in the full article is for the Pickup. I read somewhere that there is a shortage of new and used Pickups, Full Sized SUVs and Crossovers. Seems like contrary to Obamma, Pelosi and the commie enviros, people do not want to drive a Toyota Prissy.
I am fixing to trade may Murano in for a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track.
Ford makes some damn fine vehicles period.
Ford Sales Strengthen. So what? Nothin’ from nothin’ still leaves very little. Read recently that Ford’s getting their own multi-billion dollar tax-money infusion. And me brudder bought Ford stock for just over a dollar a share, coupla months ago. Think it’s up close to two now. Look out Toyota, Ford’s revving up!
As the owner and original purchaser of my 14 yr old F150, I recently purchased my first vehicle in 14 yrs, (not counting motorcycles) a Ford Focus. (This was a hedge against $4 gas sure to return and any future VAT) It was also one of the few vehicles I could find w/o power windows, locks, seats, etc. Its a standard tranny and my wife is getting 33mpg with mixed city/hwy driving, she likes it. We now have a nice stable, Explorer, very comfortable, F150, very useful and the baby Ford, the gas miser.
Ford should start an anti government marketing campaign and issue a copy of the Constitution with each purchase. Wrap themselves in the flag.
Ford closed 5.78 yesterday...
I get emails from GM dealerships touting a great sale. I respond to them “as long as Obama and the UAW own your company and the bondholders are screwed, I’m not interested.”
If the UAW gets a tax “break” on their bennies and the rest of us do noy then, there will be no fords in my future either.
If Volkswagen has the sense to put that 2 liter turbo-diesel from the GDI into a small, 3000 lb. pickup truck, I know what I'll be buying for my second vehicle.
My "other car" is a 1982 El Camino.
The current American government has no business being in any type of business, including governing. Their contract needs to be canceled.
