Alaska's lipstick-wearing pit-bull is a "Little Shop of Horrors."
That's how one longtime friend and campaign trail companion of John McCain, the vanquished 2008 GOP presidential nominee, described veep nominee Sarah Palin.
In an expansive story in the August edition of Vanity Fair, a slew of senior members of McCain's campaign team told reporter Todd S. Purdum that they suffer a kind of survivor's guilt following the 2008 presidential election.

Let the MSM, the DNC, and the RINOs take their best shots. Sarah will come out of it more loved and respected by the rest of us, and better positioned to help us take back the GOP and our country as a result in 2010 and 2012.
“Who are these guys, the campaign workers?”
I imagine most of them are “anonymous” campaign staffers, which is nearly always the case in these types of articles about Sarah. I wonder if any of them will have the guts this time to give their name. Either they’re lying or they’re too scared or a bit of both.
These idiots whore themselves out to whoever will hire them each campaign season..... let’s hope that their inability to keep their opinions to themselves has ended their careers in political campaigning.
You can tell McCain, as I did, that he would be better off to just not run..he has a chance to walk away with some dignity...if he runs, he will be slaughtered here in Arizona. I guarantee you that. Oh, and tell him to take his daughter with him... I always do.
Uh I did not post it—the point is that the actual article is coming out in Vanity Fair in August.
BTW, sometimes NY Daily gets it right. Since the McCain aides did a couple Palin hit pieces immediately following the election, this is not out of the realm of reality....at that time I just thot they were venting, but this is obnoxious and inexuseable!
My husband had to sign a confidentiality clause with his company saying he would not divluge stuff when he leaves. McCain should do/should have done the same.
We will invite this guy to our city and see what he has to say..If we like what he has to say, we will support him and work towards his win..We are committed. There are organizations like mine all over Arizona doing this. We are going to take back America.
FReeped! Go Sarah!
How do you believe Sarah Palin performed as a candidate for vice president?
Palin did great. It wasn’t her fault that McCain wasn’t a strong leader of the ticket. 60%
She did OK. She certainly wasn’t the reason why McCain lost. 8%
She did poorly. McCain might have won if he made a smarter VP pick. 32%
Called AZ office and it was 8:30 & no one answered phone—leave a message?!!....so I did. Nice to have a job where you don’t start till after 8:30 these days.
Called Washington (it was later morning there) & told them I thot this attack was worse than Letterman because these are GOP campaign staffers. Funny GOP takes over with the attacks where the dems and state run media leave off....Of course he was quick to point out that McCain had come out against Letterman story...I told him he needs to do something.
The message taker did not seem to care at least initially providing lame excuse that there were thousands of volunteers.... but I told him, Look these were not lit drop and phone tree calling volunteers. These are the ones who were close to the top and if McCain could not keep campaign staff in line, how the heck could he be Pres?
He asked me what I thot he should do. I said send out an email to all staff cease and desist and put up a blanket comment on his website. Maybe if lots of people complain, something will get done...regardless I told them and GOP they will not get a dime with this kind of leadership!
Oh I agree with your comments about his daughter ;) For all I know, she was a Vanity Fair contributor. Next time I call, I will mention it.
Why any Republican, even a RINO would let Vanity Fair do a story on them is beyond me.

Is Hayworth out of politics now?
Does the article give names or it the same “unnamed sources”? I hate to give the Daily News clicks.
This is more telling about Democrats and Romney supporters than it is about Palin. What kind of desperation does it take to rehash and reuse the same claims over and over again, and try to style it as something new? Its as though these people believe that if repeated enough, it will be true.
When I meet folks and learn they are conservatives the subject comes up and its the same thing: they voted for Palin.
I met a wonderful young lady who is a meter maid here in Boston. I met her on election day as we both crossed a street not far from the local voting station. She brought up the election and how much she admired and loved Sarah. How Sarah was “ Just one of us. One of the folks who knows what it is to work, put food on the table, cut coupons “.
She had nothing to say about McCain. And this young twenty-something black woman from Boston went on to say that Obama wasn't fooling her in the least.
Palin can win a presidential election.
Lets don’t get carried away with stupidity. McCain wasn’t Reagan, but abortion wouldn’t have found a safe harbor and the military would have remained a priority, there wouldn’t have been a “stimulus package” and Iran would have been slapped down the first day. Try to retain some reality.
60% excellent job. Not her fault that mccain was a weak candidate
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
This group was shifting from campaign to campaign - whoring, as I said - you can’t trust people who do that. They are hoping to save whatever shred of reputation they might think they have left by joining with the liberals in bashing Sarah...
The blue bloods of the party will try to stop her nomination and I suspect the reaction from party members at the Republican Convention will border on insurrection.
