He did it before, he can do it again. I imagine there are still thousands of stupid, rich people that would and will give their money to the next Madoff that comes along offering something too good to possibly be true.

Although I have never experienced either I have been told by those in a position to speak from experience that a county jail is a far worse place to spend time than any prison.
Yup...some will, the term for that is “claw-back”..and those persons are very nervous.

He is going from the lap of luxury to a jail cell with strict rationing and limited amenities.
He’ll be ending it in a jail cell with limited time outside and even then it’ll be heavily supervised.
No more yachting, shopping, bonking a cabana girl, dining out, parties, receptions, all the other vices he indulged in happily.
All when most his age are enjoying it the most. No more fine paintings, sculptures, etc. Right after he has been so used to it and taken it for granted.
If anything, this will be worse than death.
Violent crimes? Like beating up an 80-year-old man so that he spends a week in the hospital, 6 weeks in a leg cast, and then gets well?
How about depriving that same 80-year-old man of his entire life savings through fraud, so that he is now penniless, destitute and has to spend all the entire remaining days and years of his life standing long hours doing the strenuous work of chopping meat every day just so that he has just enough money to keep surviving until he can die?
Madoff stole people's entire futures from them.

I just had my comments censored on the Seattle-Times message board about this story within minutes of posting. I dared compare the 13 billion Madoff swindled to the 3+ trillion the dems and RINOs like Dave Reichert are trying to swindle out of the USA with Cap and Trade.
Guess the “progressives” running that paper didn’t appreciate that and it didn’t comply with their fairness doctrine.

I’m tired of hearing about Madoff getting a 150-year sentence. Hasn’t anybody heard of “revolving door justice?” We hear often enough about sentences being reduced because of good behavior or overcrowded prisons. He’ll probably only serve fifty years.
150 years? Wow, that’s over 2 hours for each $100,000 he swindled people out of...
