Jackson 'Weighed 8st 1oz When He Died'
SkyNews ^

Michael Jackson weighed just 8st 1oz when he suffered a fatal heart attack on Thursday, according to newspaper reports.

Quoting leaked post-mortem results, The Sun said the 5ft 10 singer's body was "severely emaciated" and his stomach contained nothing more than partially dissolved pills.

Despite having a punishing rehearsal schedule for his upcoming concerts, Jackson was understood to be eating once a day - which could explain his weight.

The paper also claimed to have seen notes that said Jackson's hair had fallen out and that his face was covered in plastic surgery scars.

Several of his ribs were allegedly broken and injection sites were visible from where medics had tried to kick start his heart with shots of adrenaline.

Dr Charles Knight, a consultant cardiologist and secretary of the British Cardiovascular Society, said the broken ribs were consistent with attempts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

"It does happen with CPR - it's not common but is a recognised complication," he told Sky News Online.

"It's better to persevere with the resuscitation attempt rather than worry about the risk of breaking ribs."

So - about 113 lbs or so? Had to look up the pound equivalent of “stone”.

Anyone know what a “8st” is in American? Have we quit using the pound now?

A stone is 14 lbs... so that is only 112 lbs... my wife and daughter are both very thin but both weigh over that...

How could a kingdom so great as to invent degrees farenheit and stones and fathoms and furlongs (not to mention farthings and shillings and guinea) surrender to that unimaginative French system of measurement?

Ok I'm going to be a contrarian on this Michael Jackson thing. First my condolences to the family. As the saying goes "...the death of any man diminishes me..." or something like that.

But the amount of attention to this is beyond absurd. I'm not surprised by the Entertainment Press. This is more or less their job. But the behavior of the MSM is outrageous. The amount of time on this is preposterous. Fox News in particular is disgusting. I thought better of them. I guess anything for ratings.

The truth of the matter is that Michael Jackson's life is a tragedy brought on by having fame greatly in excess of his talent. Yes I said it. Jackson was a really good dancer and performer but for real rock and roll fans he was lame. His fan base are the types who really don't like true rock and roll, rhythm and blues and the like. He was POP and that's it. He wasn't even Soul. I don't think he wrote any of his own material (I might be wrong on that). He didn't play an instrument that I'm aware of and he didn't have a great singing voice. Ask yourself a question, does anyone cover Michael Jackson tunes" ? I didn't think so.

Yes he had his adoring fan base (mostly people with no taste). Yes Thriller was a good album. Although the test of time will diminish it. I really don't understand his popularity. He was a precursor of the trash Madonna. Without Jackson, she would not have been possible. It's hype over substance.

I won't go into his personnel life. It's been covered enough. Suffice it to say it was beyond bizarre.

I'm saddened by his death. It was a tragedy. But as for my opinion his fame and talent were GREATLY EXAGGERATED" .
