I oppose affirmative action in all its forms but why is it given to non-african american minority groups? I understand the general idea for why the Left supports it is allegedly diversity (although they hate ideological diversity) but how can they claim that, for instance, with hispanic groups who comprise such a large population in the US now? Arguably you could support it (although I disagree with this) for African Americans as a form of reparations of sorts but how does that apply to any other group? I don't remember Hispanics being enslaved and it was the Irish, not Hispanics who were called the N word along with blacks and told not to apply for jobs.... any idea?
Is Charlize Theron elligible for any affirmative action programs? She is African American.

Affirmative action comes from self-loathing white people who are trying to clear their consciences of things that have nothing to do with discrimination. They think they are pro-diversity and pro-equality until it affects them personally. You’ll never see one of those elitist ivy league professors offering up his tenured position to a “minority”. Yet, he’ll support it being imposed on other white people, like the firefighters in Connecticut. He’ll also be the first to move out of the neighborhood when Mexicans move in next door. Yet, he’ll cry about violations to their civil rights should we try to secure the border. Liberals in general just like to tell others how to live. They rarely wish to be held to the same standards.

Every immigrant from Egypt or Morocco is an African-American as well. Are they referred to as such?
How about white immigrants from South Africa?
