President -- 2012
Sarah Palin: 76
Mike Huckabee: 54
Mitt Romney: 52
Bobby Jindal: 19
Ron Paul: 9
In a straw poll at the Olathe Republican Party's annual Picnic and Straw Poll Saturday at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop, Todd Tiahrt grabbed a big win in a straw poll faceoff.
Tiahrt and Moran, both members of Congress, are squaring off in the GOP primary next year for the U.S. Senate.
Saturday's results:
Tiahrt: 165 votes.
Moran: 46.
The 3rd District, which encompasses the site of the poll, is a major battleground in the primary race given that Moran hails from Hays and Tiahrt from Wichita.
Organizers also staged a 3rd District Congress straw poll for the right, presumably, to take on Democratic incumbent Dennis Moore next year.
Those results:
Patricia Lightner: 74.
Macie Houston: 33
Daniel Gilyeat: 30
Darla Jaye: (write-in): 24.
For governor:
Sam Brownback: 197
Other: 12.
Secretary of State:
Kris Kobach: 192
JR Claeys: 22

Woman looks better in a T-shirt and baggy pants than the First Lady of Fashion looks in anything!
Yep, just take a look at THIS thread, for instance...
For Republicans, a Narrowing List of Presidential Prospects
OR this one...
I'd vote for her...again.
And he’s pretty politically astute!
Of course I am sure those here on free republic who see to take issue with her are only offering agenda free constructive criticism.
You can also throw in Victor Davis Hanson.
I know that some of the most diehard Mittens (that was their term to describe themselves) on fr were some of palin’s biggest supporters once she was picked for vp.
Those without an established RINO etc. agenda or candidate have little issue with Palin.
Let 'em have at it. It will make our final candidate that much stronger. If it's Palin, I'm good. She's going to have a real thick hide by then and she'll be able to rip the azz out of The One
She was in his head real big during the last campaign and if she's the Republican pick, she already knows how to flip 0's switches.
It'll be fun to watch.
She gets my vote for the 2nd time.
Well either they have missed a meeting or have been very quite. The vast majority of Anti Palin rhetoric is coming from those with a posting history straight back to Romney, at least among those who are being subtle about it. A few are rather straight forward.
Pity.
Palin 2012!
A guy that can tell a crowd in a speech at the Hoover Institution, "I've found more wisdom on 100 acres south of Fresno than on the quad over there at Stanford" is my kind of intellectual...LOL.
Mark Sanford use to be included in these polls......is she now drawing the lion’s share of former Sanford supporters? It’s notable that whoever wins SC usually goes on to win the GOP nomination.
Your destruction is at hand.
And she's *hot*.
I learned much more outside of college than I ever did in the classroom.
Of course that would brand me an anti intellectual to many of our elite Country clubbers here who do such things, but on the contrary it is quite the opposite. I appreciate my time at university, for two main reasons.
First I did learn critical thinking skills and concepts which were invaluable to acquiring knowledge in the outside world, and secondly, I learned to even recognize the most subtle BS when I saw it, mainly due to over exposure while in school...
All the left seriously needs is one or more “9/11’s” to really happen within the U.S. just prior to the November ‘10 election and/or prior to the November ‘12 election and then use such situation(s) as reasons to postpone having any elections in November ‘10 and/or November ‘12! I really hope that doesn’t happen, but leftists are already screwing up the entire U.S. in too many ways to count, including, but not limited to, the ongoing weakening of U.S. national security!
