Venezuelan president Chavez says he will do "everything necessary" to abort the military coup in Honduras.

“We call on all parties in Honduras to respect the constitutional order and the rule of law, to reaffirm their democratic vocation, and to commit themselves to resolve political disputes peacefully and through dialogue,” Clinton said in a statement.

I don't get it. The rule of law is that the guy be arrested as per Honduras supreme court and congress. So I'm not sure I see why Obama is upset over this. Unless he is upset that this means this also exposed his path to perpetual power as well (just take a vote on it and forget about the constitution).

Honduras has one military air base with less than a dozen fighter planes from the 1960's and no surface to air missile capabilities to speak of. So how long before Hugo's Su-30's would be all shot down? Ummm..... Without direct assistance from the US, they'd be screwed.
