hopefully he doesn’t come out in the next few days and say “I’m sorry”. It was late and by page 300 I was grouchy.

I hope John is finally finding his voice, it would have been nice if happened prior to the bills passage.

Boehner is my Congressman and I voted for him, but..John has shown little to no leadership abilities. He's a good conservative and maybe now he will become the voice we have been looking for and stop trying to be a Senator.

Energy Summits with constituents.

It would be interesting to see/hear if anyone actually organizes these.

Wow! He spent a whole hour reading this boondoggle into the record, even though he could have opted for unlimited time and read the whole thing. What an effort! Atta way to take one for the team, Representative Boener!

I suppose his action could be construed by some as "finding his voice", when one considers his weak efforts up to now. To me, though it seems more like another spineless response to DemocRat attempts to destroy this nation. IMHO, Boener's response was pale in comparison to what this bill will do to our economy should it be passed into law. Seems to me like the entire "leadership" of the Republican Party in the House (and Senate) need to step down and make way for someone with the stones to really stand up and fight this nonsense.....

Could not agree more.

Up until a week ago Boehner was going to have some stiff competition in the next primary from a very conservative local sheriff... But I'm guessing the sheriff got bought off, so I'm stuck with John for another 2 years.

so I'm stuck with John for another 2 years.

My Dim Representative, Lincoln Davis, voted against the climate bill, but he voted for the Porkulous bill and the TARP bailout, among other boondoggles. I wouldn't vote for him anyway, but this next election I'm going to actively try to get him voted out of office. I met him once before he got elected to his first term. He's a dim bulb at best, even if he occasionally casts votes with his constituents best interests in mind....or, more like voting to save his own fanny. This is coal country and smack in the middle of the TVA system....

“A lot of people walked the plank on a bill that will never become law,” Taylor told The Hill after the gavel came down.

Speaking of BS, we thought no one could be stupid enough to vote for the House POS, now we are expected to just fugitaboutit, because it will die in the Senate? Not a chance buster.

If the American people fail to rise up and call this POS what it is, a treasonous bill designed to sink the USA into economic and military oblivion, then they deserve the consequences, but I sure don’t.

Oh just as an aside, everyone associated with the passage of this bill in the house, 219 congressmen, and women, and the leftist staffers who wrote the POS, and others perhaps not yet recognized, are guilty of aiding our enemies by reducing our ability to counter their efforts towards our demise. That IMHO is called TREASON.

Oh, and one other aside, the Leadership in the house who made it possible for the bill to pass without time for congressmen and women to read said bill or the late night addendum thereto, should lead the way to the GALLOWS. There can be no other solution to such anti constitutional travesty.

But one Democratic aide quipped, "What do you expect from a guy who thinks global warming is caused by cow manure?" Excuse me? Wasnt the Democrats who had a tax on cow farts in the stupid bill? I believe they are the ones who believe cow manure is dangerous, not Boehner.

He also called the TARP bailout a “sh** sandwich” that we Americans had to eat.

” Using his privilege as leader to speak for an unlimited time on the House floor, Boehner spent an hour reading from the 1200-plus page bill “

Not only unlimited time but the use of an unlimited vocabulary!

Agreed. I recall the efforts that Democrats used to prevent passage of the Civil Rights Act. A one-hour speech does not compare. If it had been me, I would have donned a pair of Depends and stayed at the podium until every single Democrat had gone home.
