Michael Jackson's doctor has history of legal, financial woes
Las Vegas Review-Journal ^ | 6/27/2009 | BRIAN HAYNES

In his decade spent living and working in Las Vegas, the doctor at the heart of the Michael Jackson death investigation has left a trail of legal and financial troubles.

Dr. Conrad Murray's legal troubles in Las Vegas began in 2002, two years after he opened Global Cardiovascular Associates on East Flamingo Road near Eastern Avenue.

In February 2002, the Clark County district attorney's office filed a lien against Murray because of unpaid child support owed to Nenita Malibiran in California. That case followed him throughout the decade.

In 2006 he was hit with another lien for nearly $3,100 in unpaid child support, and as recently as June 10, the district attorney's office filed to collect $10,893 in back child support owed to Malibiran in Santa Clara County in California, according to county records.

Murray had trouble paying other personal debts, as well.

Capital One Bank sued Murray in October and won a default judgment for $960 plus $408 in interest and legal fees.

And in March, HICA Education Loan Corp. won a $71,332 civil judgment against Murray, who failed to repay student loans from his days in medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn., according to court records.

Murray and his company have also faced a litany of lawsuits in the past three years for unpaid bills and business obligations.

Lawsuits from Citicorp Vendor Finance and Popular Leasing U.S.A. ended with judgments against Murray totaling $363,722, and two pending lawsuits from Digirad Imaging Solutions and Siemens Financial Services are seeking judgments totalling $366,541.

On Friday, the office at Global Cardiovascular Associates was dark.

A closed sign hung from the door.

Murray has not been the subject of disciplinary action by the Nevada medical or pharmacy boards, according to those agencies.

He has been registered to vote in Clark County since 2004 but does not have a Nevada driver's license, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

He lives in a 5,268-square-foot home with four bedrooms and a pool near the Red Rock Country Club.

The level of crazy news going around reminds me of the sort of ‘journalism’ from the Hurricane Katrina days.

I wonder when the rumor will start that it was Obama who was responsible for Jackson’s death because he couldn’t stand for another mostly white black guy to upstage him in world public opinion with a big comeback tour.

If the rumor of 100 unreleased songs is true $$$CA-CHING$$$!

The Most High Reverend Jesse is going to have a problem blaming “Whitey”, since the quack doctor is a fellow brother.

Did Michael Jackson have talent? At one point, yes he did; loads of it. However, at some point in time, something snapped. And the bottom line is, if he didn’t pay off people, he would have been in prison. He was a pedophile. I wouldn’t let a puppy, let alone a child within 10 miles of the freak.

I’d feel more at ease sitting with OJ Simpson or Michael Vick than Michael Jackson.

Did you read the part where he didn’t pay child support or his college/medical school loans, or much of anything else ?

I would like to figure out how a person can be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, or like MJ, hundreds of millions of dollars in debt, and live like a king.

If this guy had a history of non-payment of child support, how did the California Medical Board not suspend his license? Have a friend who had to jump through hoops when a clerical error by the San Diego Courts was reported to the Board and he was told to get it straightened out post haste or face license suspension.

He ran away from Jackson’s house and left his car. Why?

“This guy has ‘quack’ written all over him.”

I don’t doubt it. Mr. Jackson, as screwed up as he was, had a knack for surrounding himself with vultures. Of course vultures can sense wounded prey. ;)

There's a second doc involved, though he doesn't seem to be getting nearly the same amount of press....

I’m not sure “Dr.” Thome Thome is a medical doctor.

“...He’s dead.Nothing will bring him back..

They should have called the “Magic Mullatto” to lay his hand upon Jackson to cure him. Since Zero was busy screwing the country, they had to use Dr. Murray.
