Interesting. I’m a Posc grad and I didn’t know about this time they had to change their vote. (Or maybe I’m just too old and just forgot.) So if that’s correct, if we can get only four pubs to change their vote, it takes four votes from the yes side and adds four to the no side and this thing goes down. So what are the chances of that? I’m thinking...slim...and none.

Well, I heard the Democrats were dragging one of their own legislators out of rehab, so they could get his vote on the bill — but — it looks like our own Republicans rescued the Democrats...

My congressman is on the list (Reichert). Not friends exactly, but he knows my wife and me by name and more.

Generally a good guy, was a great sheriff, but comes from a tilting district -- WA 8th Cong. used to be pretty conservative but the last election he had a fairly narrow win over a quite-left challenger who just wasn't credible (but more so than the loon (Heidi) who'd been the D challenger in previous races.

I'm going to be asking him about this at the next private R fundraiser we attend. He's a moderate, not a conservative, and has been good on other issues. My best guess is he's playing to the Ds, counting on the Senate to kill this thing.

If so this could be a major error, as he's now angered a good part of his base here.

Heh, I don't think so but it's perfectly okay for you to display your ignorance (I use the sense of the Latin root) and ready willingness to call names.

Cap-n-Trade actually benefits me personally. It will make me considerably more valuable to my employer -- in fact, the energy-efficiency element of the "green" movement has already been a big benefit to me, with raises and other rewards.

I am still against it.

So why did three Joizy "Republicans" vote for this piece of 'Rat garbage?

What does it mean to be a Republican in Joizy? Less 'Rat than a 'Rat, but a rat rather than a person?

Exactly. It’s has gone past the “correctable” stage and on to “scrappable only”.

I have a plan. Imagine whenever you fill up your car with gas you leave this notice at the gas station pump. You make sure that the particular name of the congressman who voted for this horrible bill matches up to the district of the pumping place. Make sure it's easy to remove so that we are not damaging anybodies property. Print up a bunch and carry them in your car. Perhaps I could interest somebody in making a website that would sell these pamphlets custom made. I'd put that website at the bottom rather than heritage.org instead.

The sooner we can make this happen the less likely the Senate will pass this OBAMANATION as they see these little notices multiply!

Mary Bono! How disgusting.

The rest - north of the mason dixon line....most .N.E. Part of the corruption up there that is killing this country.

People think the economy is bad now. People think their taxes and energy costs are bad now. Just wait.

Billions upon billions upon billions to bankrupt us first and then to kill us all off - if they could they would. Save the earth - kill off the people on it.

Disgusting! Three from my corrupt state of NJ. They all must go, but they won’t. They all cater to the Dem machine. Expect them to vote for Obamacare as well. Someone take this state off the map!

For those of you who don’t understand cap and trade let me explain it as it applies to bovine flatulence or (farts).

We set up a bureau of cow farts, with a cow fart tzar. We measure the amount of co2 each cow
expels and set that as the individual limit. If a cow farts more than the allowable limit she can buy fart credits from a cow who has farted less that the allowable limit. The allowable limit is known as cap. Buying credits is known as trade. If the entire cow population farts beyond the allowable limit collectively,
Al Gore will step in and sell them carbon offsets in this way cows can fart all they want to and Al Gore will get rich.

Only three of the eight will even accept email from outside their district.

Pretty convenient that they are voting for taxes that will effect the people of every district.

I would also wager that they would happily accept campaign contributions from outside their district.

Those Republicans will not be forgotten = but look at their locations.....corrupt N.E for the most part.....sorry to you in the N.E.

Do you have a link to the number of pages in the bill and the fact that the stupid idiotic evil Dems and those idiot 8 Repubs probably had not even read the bill and have no idea what they are doing.

Also about the one amendment that has 300 pages that John Boehner tried to read but was stopped.
