Evan Bayh would have been a beter choice for the Dem Party.
I see PREDICTABLY that my congressrat Bart Gordon voted AYE for waxman-markey after his staff told me yesterday morning he was "undecided".. Which of course only means he had his finger in the wind.
Guess what Bart? You're out next election.
I have read that the Senate Dems have 43 votes. There are a group of about 8 Dem Senators from the heartland (spearheaded by Bayh) who are a NO.
Also have read that the Maine sisters are a NO. I think the GOP will stay as a NO block in the Senate.
Reid doesn’t have the votes and my guess is he probably won’t even bring this up for a vote and be humiliated. The best Pelosi and Reid can do is to pick the bill apart and pass small, incremental stuff - for the time being.
Dems do not want this issue front and center going into the 2010 elections because they will be severely hurt by it. If it doesn’t pass in Oct. (and looks dead at this point), it will not come back until or unless Dem majorities remain after 2010.
Pelosi just saved her speakership, but may have called in way too many chips and also may have just cost herself a dozen or more seats as Dems who voted for this from conservative leaning districts should suffer.
I wonder if Boehner and Cantor knew most of those 8 Repubs were going to vote for the measure? By that I mean do they represent more blue districts and had to do it? I don’t know.
I hope Specter has to go on record voting for this monstrosity, because Toomey will nail him to the wall over it. Eastern PA won’t care, but western PA, where the coal region is, should.

I have yet to see much evidence that any of these “clowns” will be “voted out” in a year.
We need to ID the fence sitters so their constituents can go after them. Focus where it will do the most good. Venting by those who live in CA and MA for example might make those FReepers feel good but achieves nothing.
We aren't quite there in the Senate, where we still need to pare down the RINOs by about 5.

I want someone to ask obama to describe with specificity (one of his favorite words) EXACTLY what these green jobs are that there could be 5 million of them. I seriously doubt they would provide living wages - but then, if he crashes our economy, we’ll all be beggars and grateful for whatever the One provides.
That's because only the successful ones are remembered. Failed revolutions outnumber successful ones by 100 to 1. Besides, successful revolutions are always from the top down, not from the bottom up, and where are the great revolutionary leaders of today. Can you name them?
Anyway, I suspect that if there is a revolution in this country it will be from the left. We see it now. A bloodless revolution happening before our eyes and virtually overnight. They took over the apparatus of state and are using it to the fullest. Those who's job it is to oppose them, the Republicans, are impotent cowards or quislings. No hope there. What's left? The American people? At least half of them are on board with Obama.
However, even a lost cause is worth fighting for, and you should never give the enemy a free ride. Remember the Warsaw Uprising!

That makes two of us. Specter hasn’t been a favorite of mine since the impeachment trial and he brought up Scottish Law. Now I loathe the man and anything to stick it to him that will help Toomey I am 100% behind.
The only jobs which are created are from energy companies having to spend more dollars to comply with these regulations. These expenses provide no value added to the energy which is provided, just additional costs. This is the most expensive and unproductive way to create jobs which are unsustainable. The way to create real sustainable jobs is to work with business, not against business. This cap and trade is the stupidest way possible to create jobs. They are temporary, very expensive cost per job, and provide no tangible added value. It would be much more efficient if the government just hired people to do nothing.
