Really? I've never seen the charge even make them blink.
Usually when you point out the excesses of their leadership (Algore for instance) that are counter to their message, they've already justified it in their minds that the elite )they include themselves) must not be constrained by the rules they put on the masses.

I'm not one to put on airs, but Carol if you read this, it's "DOCTOR McCarty" to you. :) In fact, I just looked up the academic regulations to see if I am allowed to use that title with my degree just for this post.

Right-wing rumors have it that Obama is not an American citizen, that he’s going to abolish the second amendment (or at least seize all guns) and that attempts to rescue American business from bankruptcy are really “socialism,” as is the plan to give America citizens what other wealthy, civilized countries have—a health care system that puts people before profits.

Hmm; maybe the birthers have a point, since according to this author the alternative is that socialized medicine and socialization of industry aren't really socialism.
