WESTWOODAmerican icon and pop singer Michael Jackson died on Thursday, June 25, according to breaking reports. TMZ first reported that Jackson, 50, passed away.
Jackson was known for his slew of popular songs over the last four decades, including "Thriller" and "Billie Jean" and for his now-legendary mini-movie/music video for "Thriller" which is still a very popular song and music video today, more than 20 years later.
Jackson was also known for his singular antics off the stage, including his wearing of pajamas to court appearances and apparently dangling one of his children off of a balcony.
According to available information, authorities responded to a call that Jackson was in distress early on Thursday afternoon, and soon after transported him to the world famous UCLA Medical Center.
MichaelJackson.com reveals that the singer and proclaimed "King of Pop" was scheduled to perform in quite a few concerts in the United Kingdom between July 8, 2009 and March 6, 2010.
Jackson would have been 51 this August.
Only in America could a black boy grow up to become a rich white woman
That’s funny.
If he’s dead today at 50 what will he be tomorrow or a few months from now at 51? I guess still dead.
“Farrah; Michael.....Who will be number three?”
Ed McMahon, David Carradine, Bea Arthur.
This rule of three stuff is so silly. Completely arbitrary.
“This is SC Governor Sanfords lucky day. Now he is off the front page”.
He just got The Gary Condit special.
He OD’d on Jesus Juice!
“Any word on if his upcoming tour is cancelled?”
They’ve enlisted Eddie Murphy, in white-face, to fill in.
Heck, we gone be plumb outa librils pretty soon...
They are falling like fly’s. Were next.
I cannot find any verification.
Didn't he convert to islam a while back?
As sad as it is unsurprising. Michael Jackson was a tremendous talent, a great entertainer, but someone who was always surrounded by “yes” people and enablers. No one would warn the King of Pop about his excentricities, no one would keep him grounded, in the real world. As much as he wanted to “stay young” forever, he died “young” in a relative sense. A sad epitath to a magnificent and tragic life...
“The 70s died tod”
Methinks the 80s have more of claim on Jackson than anyone.
Hadn't he converted to Islam? Obama will be in mourning then.
So I guess you would have cast that first stone then.
I remember watching the Jackson Five back in the mid-60’s on our first color tv. Think it was the Andy Williams Show, and they were a quick hit, so back often. How he went from that cute little boy to the tabloid freak is a sad story. Never did follow him (or any of the Jacksons) as a solo act.
I’m sorry he has died, especially before his time. Pop culture king or not, I’m amazed at the TV coverage. He may have had a talent, but I can’t see the need to elevate him to these heights -— just from singing and dancing. The entourage that usually follows him continues.
The death of Neda effects me more.
Have no idea but, if someone fell it might as well be any of these people as a Joe Smith. They are only Hyman despite the Idolatry heaped on them by the Media machines.
Yes sometimes one’s biggest enemies are those who love them (enable them) too much but truthfully once he had the amount of money he had at such a young age no one was going to tell him anything.
