Preparation Under way for N. Korean Technicians to Evacuate from Iran
It has been revealed on June 20 that N. Korea's missile and nuke technicians, currently staying in Iran, started preparation to evacuate from Iran, according to a credible source on Mid-East. It is not certain that they will actually leave, but they are definitely preparing for the departure when Iranian (political) situation becomes 'fluid.'
N. Korean technicians are at multiple sites in Iran, cooperating with Iran the development of missiles and other projects.
In addition to securing personal belongings, the preparation includes equipments and documents which should be kept in secret, such as computers. This is to prevent the evidence of the close collaboration on missile and nukes from being discovered.
The reformist group in Iran are mounting protests over the fraud in presidential election, and (political) tension is rising.

Well, you have no option when secret police is watching over you all the time.

I could be wrong, but I bet that their families are being held as hostages to their return. Basically, if you defect, your wife and kids get two in the hat.

Not just your wife and kids, generally your parents, grand parents, cousins and so on.

Well, you have no option when secret police is watching over you all the time. I remember encountering a couple of Russian engineers in a hotel in Germany in the 1970's. They were in obvious terror of their "minder". They were at a table in the restaurant near the TV, watching the winter olympics and the owner, who had served on Eastern Front and spoke a smattering of Russian (and who was on very cordial terms with us GIs) starting needling them. The "minder" arrived in the elevator (British: lift) took one look, said two words and two fify-ish engineers hurriedly gulped their beer and left, obviously embarrassed and afraid.

One wrong word from their minder could send them to eternal winter vacation in the Arctic.

I would imagine that the government has much less control out in the countryside. Must be getting internal rebel attacks. There are some Kurds living within the Western Iraq border area. My guess is that the Kurdish Iranian area currently has No Controlling Legal Authority. Saddam came and took the Iraqi Kurds early freedom back when the toon was president.
Russians are set to move next week. Kavkas 2009 Military Excercises.

Could be because NK is getting ready to go to war, or that Iran is getting pretty uncomfortable.
