Live thread for commentary on the ABC News Primetime ObamaCare Infomercial tonight at 9:00 PM CT/10:00 PM ET.
John Boehner recommends this handy guide to the healthcare informercial from The Freedom Project.
A Guide to the President's Health Care Infomercial
Acknowledging that his thinking on the issue has "evolved," President Barack Obama says he could support a law mandating that individuals purchase health care coverage, with fines for those who do not, but he stressed that there must be some kind of waiver for those who are simply unable to afford it. (snip)
During the election campaign, Obama said he was opposed to a federal law mandating the purchase of health care coverage.

Wow, based on that last response, seems to me Obama is firmly behind letting the old who are about to die die just a little quicker. Anyone else get that sense from his response? I think that will rub some people the wrong way.
paid for outcomes?
He isn’t mentioning that if that is done, docs will refuse to treat the nearly hopeless so their outcome stats will look better.
It is a bad thing,,paying for outcome.
That line just sent a chill up my spine!
No, not just you. It seems he has mistaken doctors for traffic cops.

0bama is incoherent and unconvincing. His sins are catching up with him. Due to Iran he has lost mucho credibility among liberals
For 0bungo...It is all downhill from here
Is that "primary care physicians" or "phencyclidine"?
Its his MO and the way he gains support - appear to be reasonably considering all points of veiw. But when you look at his actions he is the most radical president we’ve ever had.
Tell everyone you know - Pay attention to what he does, not what he says.
Plus, docs won’t want to spend too much money on old people when they will die and have an outcome predetermined.
I mean how will they judge outcome? By money spent to acheive a result? Or by a convenient death?
If you kill your old patients quietly and quickly by denying care, calling in the hospitce as early as possible, have them agressive as possible in hastening death,,,is that a good outcome? I think O thinks so.
ANd what is our life worth?
I ‘m not watching but thanks for update ;)
Remember he said something about why should his 80-something grandmother get a hip replacement since she was at the end of her life anyway...
We already have an idea what his thoughts are about our older citizens.
If we're lucky, but it probably wouldn't be that good.
why shouldn’t he be. If you look at the returns, the old folks were the only ones who saw through his act. McCain won those 60+ and lost everyone else.
Interestingly, that corresponds pretty much with those old enough to remember the 60s and Carter, the last time liberal dems really had power.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that those who remember that voted for McCain
Old people aren’t cost effective. BTW re 49 million uninsured. Sunday George Will said this in response to Donna Brazile.
WILL: Donna [Brazile], you talk about the 46, 47 million uninsured. Fourteen million of them are already eligible for other government programs and havent signed up. Ten million are in households with household incomes of $75,000 a year and could afford it if they wanted to.
Furthermore, an enormous number in that 47 million are not American citizens. Sixty percent of the uninsured in San Francisco are not citizens.
Bingo. So, this 47 million uninsured number the media always throw around is totally disingenuous and largely irrelevant.
Like I’m going to trust some Kenyan with America’s health care system. This is a naked power grab just like African dictators do
Rest assured, Obama's plan will have a huge bureaucracy holding guns to the doctors' heads, and all of the trial lawyers ready to finish off the physicians who survive the first assault.
LoL I was starting to think that no one was going to volunteer to watch and report. Hahaha
Ok, after reading that.. I’ve decided to not read his comments on this thread either.. Can’t stomache it
that was the most complete, elegant non-answer I’d ever heard until he didn’t answer the woman about her 100 year old mother’s pacemaker.
I envision the customer service of the post office, the bill collection of the IRS and the reliability of Amtrak.
