Below are excerpts of e-mails, obtained by The State newspaper in December, between Gov. Mark Sanford and Maria, a woman in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The State has removed the woman’s full name and other personal details, including her address, e-mail address and children’s name.
Sanford’s office Wednesday did not dispute the authenticity of the emails.
McClatchy special correspondent Angeles Mase visited the 14-story apartment building in Buenos Aires Wednesday where the woman lives, according to the emails, which included her address. The woman at the address answered to the name in the emails and, at first, agreed to speak to a visitor, but she declined after the visitor identified herself as a reporter.
The doorman at the building, shown a photograph of Sanford, said he did not recognize him. According to the doorman, the woman has two sons, one a teenager of driving age and the other younger. The emails refer to the woman’s two sons.
Nice setup, apparently there was no doubt where sanford was nor what he was doing......the “missing Governor” was all for show.

I saw this Governor on Fox about ten days ago being interviewed. He seemed shifty and very out of focus on the questions he was asked. While it wasn’t the first time I had seen him, I was the first time in the last four months.
I said to myself, this guy is off his meds, I couldn’t beleive that this is the fellow that everyone says is head and shoulders above Palin in qualifications.
I think I am going to keep on supporting the one that they love-to-hate. She just looks better and better.

I got a feeling that these emails were “released” by Sanford cause the real emails are between him and a man.
And it is tough to beat the line about her tan lines.

The timing is suspicious as well. Right when zero’s numbers are sinking and his support for socialized healthcare and capnsteal are on the rocks. If this paper had this info for this long someone was directing them to hold the information for an ‘opportune’ moment.
Uh, if they knew in December, were they cooperating with the governor in suppressing them? Were they waiting for orders from Rahm as to the timing of their release? Were they waiting for the inevitable slip-up so they could pounce?
Considering the date of the emails, we now know why Sanford was not chosen as VP.

My favorites are the "Republicans" who insist she isn't "electable" for some vague reason, like they make fun of her on SNL.

I agree. Regardless of how I feel about what the guy did, this is a huge invasion of his privacy. I’m appalled that the emails could be gotten and even moreso that they could be printed. And frankly, they don’t contain anything that important. We already know what he did. Sadly, his wife and kids will read these.
Many media outlets keep quiet about politician hankie pankie. They view such matters off limits. This story was more or less forced out of the open by Sanford’s Republican opponents in the state.
My only question would be how did this paper get these emails?
